PhotoBiz Website Builder Overview
The PhotoBiz Builder allows you to create completely unique pages to achieve your desired website look. This overview will walk you through some of the most used features in the PhotoBiz Website Builder to build the best website for your business.
GETTING STARTED
To access the PhotoBiz Website Builder, simply log into your PhotoBiz account and click on WEBSITE in the left side menu.
Important Note: If this is the first time you're logging into your account, you'll be asked to choose the template that you wish to start with. Please remember, you have the entire catalog of PhotoBiz templates included with your membership. You can change your template at any time and your content will automatically switch from one design to the next without having to rebuild your entire website from the beginning.
ADDING PAGES, DROP DOWN MENUS, & LINKS
After you've selected your template or if you want to add, remove, or customize pages, you'll have access to your BUILDER. You can add new pages, add blocks to existing pages, change content, and more in this section.
Adding New Pages
To add a new page, simply click on the NEW PAGE button on the left side above your list of pages on your website. You can add a New Page, Drop Down Menu, or Link. If you select new page, a menu will open on the right side and you can choose to add a blank page and build it from scratch or select from the list of PRE-DESIGNED PAGE LAYOUTS and customize it to match your brand and style.
After you've added your new page, you can reorder the pages of your website within the navigation at any time by dragging and dropping the item to your desired location
You can give your new page a NAVIGATION NAME that will display on the menu of your website. You can also choose if you want to include the content from the Predesigned page layout and set the initial page settings for visibility.
Once you've made your choices, click on CREATE PAGE to add your new page to your website.
Your new page will be added to the bottom of the Navigation menu and you'll be able to update the content, add blocks, edit the SEO section, and page settings as needed.
Adding a Drop Down Menu
A drop down menu hosts multiple pages under one navigation item. You can add a new drop down menu to your website by clicking on the NEW PAGE button on the upper left and choosing DROP DOWN in the list of options that appears.
The new Drop Down Menu will appear at the bottom of the navigation menu list and you can give it a name and set it's visibility options.
Click on Save Changes once you've named the drop down menu and selected the visibility for it.
To add a page to a drop down menu, drag and drop the page to the drop down, the drop down menu will change to green and you can release the mouse. The page will be nested under the drop down menu once you've moved it there.
Adding Links
A link allows you to add an external link to your website navigation menu. This is great if you want to link to your Client Galleries, Social Media Profiles, or other websites you're affiliated with.
Click on the NEW PAGE button on the upper left and click on LINK from the available options.
Enter a navigation name, set the visibility, and add the URL for the page to which you want to link.
Click on SAVE CHANGES to apply your changes to the link.
ADDING AND EDITING BLOCKS ON YOUR PAGES
After you've added a new page or selected a page to edit in your Website Builder, you can add more blocks or edit existing blocks in the page from the column on the right side of the page builder.
PhotoBiz includes 19 different types of block that allow you to add any type of content that you want to showcase on your website. The DUO BUILD feature allows you to move blocks around within the page as well as side-by-side. Each block has it's own in-depth walk through available at the links below.
Adding a New Block
Click on the block icon you want to use to add it to your page. You can rearrange blocks within the page at any time by dragging and dropping the block to your desired location. You can also move blocks from one page to another by dragging and dropping the block to a different page.
Editing an Existing Block
You can easily add/edit content on an existing block by clicking directly on the block OR on the pencil and paper icon at the top right of the block and clicking on ADVANCED in the menu that appears.
You can duplicate an existing block if you want to re-use it on another page in your website without rebuilding it from scratch by choosing the COPY option.
You can delete an existing block by clicking choosing the DELETE option.
SHORTCUTS & PREVIEWS
PhotoBiz Website Builder makes it easy to manage pages with a lot of different blocks and also preview how your pages will look on different devices.
Shortcuts
Short cuts allow you to scroll up and down a page in your builder as well as collapse blocks you're not working to make it easier to manage your content on the control panel.
You can find the shortcuts and collapse all option under the Blocks menu on the right side of your builder.
- UP ARROW - takes you to the top of the page you're working on
- DOWN ARROW - takes you to the bottom of the page you're working on
- COLLAPSE ICON - collapses all the blocks on the page builder
You can expand and collapse individual blocks in your builder with the collapse icon on the top left of each individual block.
WEBSITE FOOTER
The footer lives at the bottom of your website and is visible on every page of your site unless you've hidden it in the page visibility settings. The footer usually contains contact information, privacy policies, and other general information about your business. The footer can also include a newsletter sign-up, social media links, or contact information.
To edit the footer of your website, click on the FOOTER button at the bottom of the list of pages in your website builder.
PhotoBiz includes 8 different types of blocks that you can use in the footer of your website. Each Footer Block has an in-depth tutorial available at the links below.
Build your footer by clicking on the blocks you want to add.
Adjust blocks by dragging and dropping them to your desired location. You can also drag and drop certain blocks to sit side-by-side.
CHANGING YOUR COLORS, FONTS, & WEBSITE DESIGN SETTINGS
PhotoBiz makes it easy to customize your design and change your template, fonts, colors, and other website design options to match your brand in the DESIGN section of your website builder.
Once you click DESIGN at the top of the page, you will see a live preview of your current design settings. You can click the "edit design settings" button to change your fonts, colors, styling, and more!
The "edit design settings" section gives you 9 different sections to customize your global design settings for your website. SOCIAL MEDIA, SITE LINKS, SITE SEARCH + SHOPPING CART, BLOG WIDGETS, & 301 REDIRECTS
You can easily integrate your social media to your website with icons, add your contact information and location with site links, display internal site search, and more with your PhotoBiz website builder via the SETTINGS section of your control panel.
Social Media
The Social Media section allows you to link your various social media pages and other items via an icon on your website.
Site Links
This section allows you to include contact information, hours, location, and other types of information you want to feature on each page of your website.
Search/Cart
The Search/Cart section controls the display options for internal site search for your ECommerce and Blog articles and the shopping cart icon on your website.
Blog Widgets
Blog widgets gives you options for what appears with your blog posts within the blog block and if you wish to display related posts at the bottom of each blog post.
Redirects
The Redirects section of your control panel allows you to create 301 redirects for your domain name once you've launched your website.
TRACKING
The Tracking section on the PhotoBiz Website Builder allows you to publish your website sitemap, set your Auto SEO company name, integrate things such as Google Analytics or other 3rd party scripts into your website header.
