How to Add and Customize the Badges Block in Your Website Footer

Overview

The footer of your PhotoBiz website can appear across every page of your website unless you disable it in an individual page’s settings. You can use the Badges Block in your footer to display professional affiliations, certifications, awards, memberships, partner logos, and other graphics.

This guide explains how to add a Badges Block, upload badge images, add alt text and links, and customize the block’s spacing, colors, and background. After you complete these steps, your badges will display in the footer of every page where the footer is enabled.

Pro Tip: For the best results, prepare each badge as a 150 pixel by 150 pixel transparent PNG file. A transparent background helps the badge blend naturally with your footer design.

STEP ONE

STEP TWO

Select FOOTER at the bottom of your list of website pages to open the footer in the Website Builder.

STEP THREE

Select the BADGES icon from the right-side menu. The Badges Block will be added to the bottom of your footer.

You can drag and drop the block to move it above or below the other blocks in your footer.

STEP FOUR

Click to Add Badges or on the pencil icon in the top right corner and then advanced in the menu that opens to access the Badges Block settings in the right-side panel.

STEP FIVE

Select New Badge, and then upload the graphic you want to display.

For the best image quality and consistency, use a square image that measures 150 pixels by 150 pixels. A transparent PNG is recommended, but you can also upload a JPG image.

STEP SIX

Add alt text that briefly describes the badge and its purpose. Alt text helps visitors who use screen readers understand the image and provides additional context for search engines.

For example, you could use alt text such as “Professional Photographers of America member” or “2026 Best Wedding Photographer award.”

You can also select a link option if you want visitors to open another page, file, contact method, or resource when they select the badge.

FINAL STEP

Repeat these steps to add any additional badges you want to display. You can return to the Badges Block at any time to edit, remove, or rearrange your badges.

Select Save after completing your changes. Your updates will be applied to your website automatically. View your website to confirm that the badges appear correctly in the footer on desktop and mobile devices.

Badge Link Options

You can leave a badge unlinked or connect it to one of the following destinations:

None: Displays the badge without making it clickable.
External Link: Opens a website or online resource outside your PhotoBiz website.
Page: Opens an existing page on your website.
Form: Opens a form created in the Forms Dashboard.
Marketing: Opens a campaign or landing page created in the Marketing Dashboard.
File: Opens a PDF, JPG, PNG, or GIF uploaded to the Documents area of your Files section.
Phone: Allows visitors on supported devices to select the badge and call the connected phone number.
Email: Opens the visitor’s default email application with your email address entered.
Address: Opens the connected address in Google Maps.
Video: Plays a YouTube or Vimeo video in a lightbox using the video’s embed code.
Pop Ups: Opens a pop-up that has been created and connected to the badge.

When using an external link, confirm that you have entered the complete destination URL and selected the appropriate option for opening the link.

Styling Options

The Styling section lets you adjust the spacing around the Badges Block. These settings override the corresponding global styling settings selected under the DESIGN tab.

Space Below Blocks: Controls the amount of space between the Badges Block and the block that follows it.
Space Inside Blocks: Controls the amount of space at the top and bottom inside the Badges Block.

Use consistent spacing to keep your footer balanced and easy to scan.

Color Options

The Colors section lets you override the global color setting used by the Badges Block. Changes made here apply only to this block and do not change the colors used throughout the rest of your website.

Background Options

The Background section lets you change the background displayed behind the Badges Block. These settings apply only to this block and override the background selected in your website’s global design settings.

The following Background Image options are available:

No background: Displays the block without a background image.
Custom background: Lets you upload and configure your own background image.
Background library: Lets you select a background provided by PhotoBiz.

Custom Background

Select Custom background, and then select Upload A New Background to upload your image.

You can upload a JPG or PNG file. The maximum image dimensions are 3000 pixels wide by 1730 pixels high.

After uploading your image, select one of the following Background Settings:

tile: Repeats the image to fill the available background area.
top left: Aligns the image with the top-left corner of the block.
centered: Positions the image in the center of the available background area.
cover: Scales the image to completely cover the background area. Parts of the image may be cropped to fit.

Background Library

Select Background library to choose from the background images provided by PhotoBiz.

The Background Library is organized into the following categories:

Geometric
Pattern
Organic
Minimal
Transparent
Lifestyle
Dark

Select a category, and then choose the background you want to use.

After selecting a library background, choose one of the following Background Settings:

tile: Repeats the image to fill the available background area.
top left: Aligns the image with the top-left corner of the block.
centered: Positions the image in the center of the available background area.
cover: Scales the image to completely cover the background area. Parts of the image may be cropped to fit.

Choose a background that provides enough contrast for visitors to see each badge clearly. Preview your footer on desktop and mobile devices to confirm that the background and badge images work well together.

Helpful Tips for Badge Images

Use badge graphics that are clear, current, and relevant to your business. Common examples include:

Professional organization memberships
Photography certifications
Industry awards
Publication features
Community affiliations
Preferred vendor badges
Partner logos
Charitable organization logos

Make sure you have permission to display any organization, award, publication, or company logo on your website.

For a consistent footer design, use badge files with similar dimensions and visual spacing. Transparent PNG files usually provide the cleanest appearance because they do not add a visible square background around the graphic.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

A Badge Does Not Appear on a Page

Confirm that the footer is enabled in that page’s settings. The footer and its Badges Block will not appear on pages where the footer has been disabled.

A Badge Looks Blurry or Pixelated

Upload a higher-quality version of the graphic. Avoid enlarging an image that was originally smaller than the recommended 150 pixel by 150 pixel size.

A Badge Has a White or Colored Square Behind It

Replace the image with a transparent PNG version. JPG files do not support transparent backgrounds.

A Badge Opens the Wrong Destination

Return to the Badges Block and review the selected link type and destination. Confirm that external URLs, email addresses, phone numbers, files, and internal pages are entered or selected correctly.

The Badges Are Difficult to See

Review the block’s color and background settings. Make sure there is enough contrast between the badge graphics and the area behind them.
