How to Use Divider Blocks in Your PhotoBiz Website

Overview

Divider Blocks in the PhotoBiz Website Builder help you separate sections of a page, add intentional spacing, and create decorative transitions between content. You can start with a Blank Divider Block, add a Spacer, or choose from several predesigned Divider Blocks.

After adding a Divider Block, you can change its layout and customize options such as thickness, length, size, overlap, styling, colors, and backgrounds. You can also rename a Divider Block to make it easier to identify when creating anchor links. This guide explains how to add, customize, manage, and delete Divider Blocks on your website.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu to open the Website Builder.

STEP TWO

Select the page where you want to add the Divider Block. Locate the DIVIDER BLOCK in the block menu. Click the Divider Block icon to add it to the bottom of the page, or click and drag it to the location where you want it to appear. When dragging the block, use the teal placement bar to choose its position.

STEP THREE

The SELECT DIVIDER BLOCK panel will open. Choose BLANK to start with a basic Divider Block, SPACER to add empty space between sections, or one of the predesigned Divider Blocks labeled Divider 1 through Divider 9.

Click SELECT on the option you want to add.

FINAL STEP

Your Divider Block is now added to the page. To access additional options, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the Divider Block.

From here, you can manage the block, change its layout, open its advanced settings, rename it, or delete it. Changes you save are automatically applied to your website.

Divider Block Menu Options

Click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of a Divider Block to open its block menu.

The menu includes:

  • COPY: Creates a copy of the Divider Block.
  • MOVE: Moves the Divider Block to another page.
  • RENAME: Gives the Divider Block a custom name, which can make it easier to identify when creating anchor links.
  • CHANGE LAYOUT: Opens the available Divider Block layouts.
  • ADVANCED: Opens the Divider Block editing panel, where you can access Divider, Layout, Styling, Colors, and Background settings.
  • DELETE: Removes the Divider Block from the page. You will be asked to confirm before the block is permanently deleted.

Divider Options

The DIVIDER section controls the size and behavior of your Divider Block. The options displayed in this section change based on the layout you are using.

Blank or Spacer

Spacer layouts include Choose Thickness:

  • Ultra Thin

  • Thin

  • Medium

  • Thick

Use these options to control how much vertical space the Spacer creates between sections of your page.

Line and Vertical Line

Line and Vertical Line layouts include Choose Thickness:

  • Ultra Thin

  • Thin

  • Medium

  • Thick

They also include Choose Length:

  • XSmall

  • Short

  • Medium

  • Long

  • Flushed

Thickness controls the weight of the line, while Length determines how far the divider extends across the available space.

Line Divider Example

Slant and Point

Slant Left, Slant Right, Point Up, and Point Down layouts include Overlap:

  • No

  • Block Above

  • Block Below

They also include Choose Thickness:

  • Thin

  • Medium

  • Thick

Overlap determines whether the divider extends into the block above or below it.

Slant or Point Example

Decorative Divider Layouts

All other decorative Divider Block layouts include a Size setting:

  • Small

  • Medium

  • Large

  • XLarge

Use this setting to control the overall size of the decorative divider.

Click SAVE CHANGES after adjusting the available Divider settings.

Changing the Divider Layout

After you add a Divider Block, you can change its layout at any time. Click LAYOUT in the right-side editing menu. Your existing selection appears under CURRENT LAYOUT.

Choose the layout you want to use and click SAVE on that layout to apply it.

You can also select SPACER from this section to convert an existing visible divider into empty space between sections.

Divider Styling

The options available under STYLING depend on the Divider Block layout you select.

Spacer Layout

The Spacer layout does not include a STYLING tab. Use the Thickness setting under DIVIDER to control the amount of space created by the Spacer.

Line Divider Layouts

Line divider layouts include a Line Style setting:

  • Solid Line

  • Dotted Line

They also include the following spacing controls:

Space Below Blocks

  • None

  • Ultra Thin

  • Thin

  • Medium

  • Thick

Space Inside Blocks

  • None

  • Ultra Thin

  • Thin

  • Medium

  • Thick

Click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the panel to apply your styling settings.

Decorative Divider Layouts

Decorative Divider layouts include the following spacing controls:

Space Below Blocks

  • None

  • Ultra Thin

  • Thin

  • Medium

  • Thick

Space Inside Blocks

  • None

  • Ultra Thin

  • Thin

  • Medium

  • Thick

Click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the panel to apply your styling settings.

Slant, Point, and Wave Divider Layouts

Slant, Point, and Wave layouts use opacity controls instead of the standard spacing settings.

  • Section A Opacity: Select from 0% to 100% in 5% increments.

  • Section B Opacity: Select from 0% to 100% in 5% increments.

Lower opacity settings make that section of the divider more transparent. Selecting 100% displays the section at full opacity.

Click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the panel to apply your settings.

Global Styling and Block-Level Settings

Divider Blocks use applicable global website styling settings by default. When you customize an individual Divider Block, those block-level settings override the applicable global settings for that block.

Extra Space With Page Load Animations

If your website uses Space Inside Blocks: None with the slide-up page load animation, approximately 20 pixels of padding will still appear around the Divider Block. This extra space allows room for the animation effect.

Divider Color Options

The COLORS section allows you to customize your Divider Block independently from your website's global color selections. The available color controls vary depending on the selected layout.

Depending on the divider you are using, options may include:

  • Spacer: Background Color
  • Line: Background Color and Line Color
  • Slant or Point: Section A and Section B

Click the color box for the setting you want to change. You can select one of your website accent colors, use the color picker, or enter a HEX color code.

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your color selections.

Divider Background Options

The BACKGROUND section allows you to add a background image to your Divider Block. You can upload your own image or choose an image from the Background Library.

When you add a background image, you can control how it displays using the available Background Settings:

  • Tile: Repeats the image to fill the background.
  • Top Left: Positions the image in the upper-left corner.
  • Centered: Positions the image in the center of the available area.
  • Cover: Scales the image to cover the available background area.

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your background settings.

You can also upload your own graphic to create a custom Divider Block design.

Rename a Divider Block for Anchor Links

You can give a Divider Block a custom name to make it easier to identify when creating an anchor link.

Click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the Divider Block, then click RENAME. Enter a descriptive name in the BLOCK NAME field and click SAVE CHANGES.

As an alternate method, you can click the DIVIDER label in the upper-left corner of the block to open the same EDIT BLOCK NAME panel.

When you create a link to a specific block, the custom name appears in parentheses next to the block type under CHOOSE A BLOCK. This is especially helpful when a page contains several Divider Blocks or multiple blocks of the same type.

Delete a Divider Block

To remove a Divider Block, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the block and click DELETE.

The DELETE BLOCK panel will open. Click YES, DELETE IT to permanently remove the Divider Block, or click CANCEL to keep it.

Important: Deleting a block cannot be undone. The Divider Block and its settings will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Helpful Divider Block Tips

  • Use Spacer when you need more room between sections without displaying a visible divider.
  • Use Line for simple visual separation between sections.
  • Use Slant, Point, and Wave layouts for more noticeable transitions between sections.
  • Use decorative dividers selectively so they complement your photography and other page content.
  • Rename Divider Blocks that you plan to use as anchor-link destinations.
  • Preview your page on desktop and mobile after changing Divider Block settings.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Why do different Divider Blocks show different settings?

The available Divider and Styling options depend on the selected layout. Spacer, Line, Slant, Point, Wave, and decorative layouts each support different controls.

Why don't I see the Styling tab for a Spacer?

Spacer layouts do not include a STYLING tab. Use Choose Thickness under DIVIDER to control the amount of space.

Why don't I see Choose Length?

Choose Length is available for Line and Vertical Line layouts.

Why don't I see Overlap?

Overlap is available for Slant and Point layouts.

Can I turn a Divider Block into a Spacer?

Yes. Open LAYOUT, select SPACER, and click SAVE.

How can I tell Divider Blocks apart when creating an anchor link?

Give each Divider Block a descriptive BLOCK NAME. The custom name appears in parentheses next to the block type under CHOOSE A BLOCK.

Can I recover a deleted Divider Block?

No. After you click YES, DELETE IT, the block is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
