How To Create Copies of Blocks on Website Builder

How to Copy a Block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder

Overview

The PhotoBiz Website Builder allows you to duplicate an existing block using the COPY option. Copying a block saves time when you want to reuse text, images, layouts, or other block content without rebuilding it from scratch.

When you copy a block, PhotoBiz places the duplicate directly below the original block. The copied block is independent from the original, so you can edit or move it without changing the original block.

This guide shows you how to copy a Website Builder block and move the copied block to another location on the same page or to a different page.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu. This opens the Website Builder, where you can view and edit your website pages.

STEP TWO

Click the name of the page that contains the block you want to copy. The page will open in the Website Builder and display the blocks currently added to that page.

STEP THREE

Locate the block you want to duplicate. Click the PENCIL ICON in the upper-right corner of the block, then click COPY.

PhotoBiz creates a duplicate of the selected block and places it directly below the original block.

If the original block is part of a DuoBuild section, the copied block appears below the DuoBuild section as a single block. Copying one block does not duplicate the entire DuoBuild layout or the block beside it.

FINAL STEP

Move the copied block to the location where you want it to appear.

To reposition the copied block on the same page, click and hold the block, then drag it to the desired location. Teal guide lines will appear between blocks to show where the block can be placed.

You can also move the copied block to another page by dragging it over the name of another page in the Website Builder and releasing it on that page.

If you prefer not to use drag and drop, click the copied block's PENCIL ICON, then click MOVE. The Move function allows you to send the block to the top or bottom of the current page or another page on your website.

For complete instructions, see How to Use the Move Function in the PhotoBiz Website Builder.

Once the copied block is in the location you want, you can edit it independently from the original.

Ways to Move a Copied Block

After you copy a block, you can reposition it using either of these methods:

  • Drag and drop: Move the copied block to another position on the current page or drag it over the name of another Website Builder page.
  • MOVE: Use MOVE from the block's pencil menu to place the block at the top or bottom of the current page or another page.

Drag & Drop Option

To move the copied block to another page, click and hold the block, drag it over the name of the page where you want it to appear, and release your mouse button.

Menu Move Option

Click the copied block's PENCIL ICON, then click MOVE. Choose the page and placement option where you want the block to appear. The Move function can be especially helpful when working with longer pages or when you prefer not to drag blocks between pages.

Helpful Notes

  • Copying a block does not change or remove the original block.
  • The copied block is a separate block and can be edited independently.
  • Changes made to the copied block do not affect the original block.
  • The copied block is initially placed directly below the original.
  • If the original block is part of a DuoBuild section, the copied block appears below the DuoBuild section as a single block.
  • Copying one block from a DuoBuild section does not copy the block beside it.
  • The copied block does not retain the original block's anchor link or block name.
  • The original block keeps its existing block name and anchor link.
  • You can keep the copied block on the same page or move it to another Website Builder page.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Where does a copied block appear?

PhotoBiz automatically places the copied block directly below the original block.

If the original is part of a DuoBuild section, the copied block appears below the DuoBuild section as a single block.

Will editing the copied block change the original?

No. The original and copied blocks are independent. Changes you make to the copied block do not affect the original block.

Does a copied block keep the original block's anchor link?

No. The copied block does not retain the original block's anchor link or block name.

The original block remains unchanged and keeps its existing block name and anchor link.

What happens if I copy a block that is part of a DuoBuild section?

The copied block appears below the DuoBuild section as a single block. Copying one block does not duplicate the entire DuoBuild layout or the block beside it.

If you want to create another DuoBuild section, you can position a supported block beside the copied block.

Can I copy a block to another page?

The copied block is first created on the current page directly below the original. You can then move it to another Website Builder page using drag and drop or MOVE.

Can I keep the original and copied blocks on the same page?

Yes. You can leave the copied block directly below the original or move it to another location on the same page.

Can I move the copied block without using drag and drop?

Yes. Click the block's PENCIL ICON, then click MOVE. You can use the Move function to place the block at the top or bottom of the current page or another page.
