Introducing DuoBuild

How to Use DuoBuild in the PhotoBiz Website Builder

DuoBuild in PhotoBiz 9 allows you to place two supported blocks side by side in the Website Builder. Instead of stacking blocks vertically, you can create clean two-column layouts by dragging one supported block next to another.

Many photographers ask whether certain blocks are “allowed” together. The answer is simple: any supported block can be paired with any other supported block. There are no restricted combinations.

This guide explains how DuoBuild works, which blocks support it, and how to build side-by-side layouts on your website pages.

What Is DuoBuild?

DuoBuild is not a separate page template or layout setting. It is a built-in layout feature available within specific block types in the Website Builder.

When two supported blocks are placed next to each other, they automatically snap into a two-column layout. The blocks continue to function normally. Only their placement changes.

DuoBuild layouts are fully responsive. On mobile devices and smaller screens, the columns automatically stack vertically for proper readability.

Blocks That Support DuoBuild

Only certain block types can be used in a DuoBuild layout.

The following block types support DuoBuild:

  • Text Editor Block

  • Text plus Image Block

  • Images Block

  • List Block

  • Banner Block

  • Video Block

  • Form Block

  • Button Block

  • HTML Block

Only blocks in this list can be placed side by side.

If a block type is not listed above, it will stack vertically and cannot be used in a DuoBuild layout.

How DuoBuild Combinations Work

You can combine:

  • Two different supported block types

  • Two of the same supported block type

There are no pairing restrictions between supported blocks.

For example:

  • A Text Editor Block can sit next to an Images Block.

  • A Form Block can sit next to a Banner Block.

  • Two Text Editor Blocks can sit side by side.

  • Two Images Blocks can sit side by side.

  • A Button Block can sit next to an HTML Block.

If both blocks are on the supported list, they can be placed together using DuoBuild.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens the Website Builder.

STEP TWO

Open an existing page or create a new page where you want to use DuoBuild.

Select a page from the page list on the left side, or create a new page if needed. DuoBuild can be used on any page of your PhotoBiz 9 website.

STEP THREE

Add two DuoBuild-compatible blocks to your page.

Add your first supported block type to the page.

Then add a second supported block type near the first one. Both blocks must be from the supported list above. You can use two different types or two of the same type.

If your page already contains supported blocks, you can reposition those instead of adding new ones.

STEP FOUR

Drag one supported block over the other supported block.

Click and hold one supported block. Drag it horizontally over the second supported block.

The block you drag over will highlight in green. When you release your mouse, the blocks will snap into a side-by-side, two-column layout.

The block you drag onto will appear on the left. The other block will appear on the right.

If the blocks do not snap into place, confirm that both block types are on the supported list.

STEP FIVE

Edit and preview your layout.

Click into each block to edit content and settings as needed.

Use the desktop and mobile preview options in the Website Builder to confirm your layout displays correctly. On smaller screens, the two columns will automatically stack vertically.

If your blocks appear side by side in desktop view, DuoBuild is working correctly.

Additional Notes

  • DuoBuild works only with the block types listed above.

  • Unsupported blocks will always stack vertically.

  • For headings inside a DuoBuild section, use a Text Editor Block and apply H2 or H3 formatting.

Using DuoBuild on Older PhotoBiz Sites

DuoBuild is available only on PhotoBiz 9 websites.

If your site is on an older version of PhotoBiz and you would like access to DuoBuild, contact the PhotoBiz Support Team for upgrade assistance.
