How to Set the Global Image Hover Animation in PhotoBiz

Overview

PhotoBiz image hover animations add movement when a visitor places their pointer over an image on your website. You can choose effects such as scaling, blurring, or bouncing to make your images more interactive.

This guide explains how to set the global Image Hover Animation for supported images throughout your website. You can also override the global setting for an individual block from that block’s ANIMATION tab.

Image hover animations may apply to images displayed in:

Images Blocks
List Blocks
Blog Blocks
Client Galleries Blocks
Products Blocks
Services Blocks
Scheduler Blocks

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages, content, and design.

STEP TWO

Click DESIGN at the top of the Website Builder.

The DESIGN section contains your website’s global design and style settings.

STEP THREE

Click EDIT DESIGN SETTINGS.

The Design Settings panel will open on the right side of your screen.

STEP FOUR

Click ANIMATIONS in the Design Settings menu.

Locate the Image Hover Animation setting.

FINAL STEP

Select the Image Hover Animation you want to use:

NONE: Does not apply a hover animation.
SCALE: Enlarges the image slightly when a visitor hovers over it.
BLUR: Applies a blur effect when a visitor hovers over the image.
SCALE BLUR: Combines the scale and blur effects.
BOUNCE: Adds a bouncing motion when a visitor hovers over the image.

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply the global setting to your website.

Preview your website and place your pointer over a supported image to see the selected effect.

Customize the Animation for an Individual Block

The global Image Hover Animation provides the default effect for supported images throughout your website. You can override this setting for an individual block.

Open the block you want to customize and click its ANIMATION tab. Select a different Image Hover Animation to use that effect for the images in that block.

Changing the animation for an individual block does not change your website’s global setting.

Image Hover Animation vs. Block Load Animation

Image hover animations appear when a visitor places their pointer over an image. Block load animations control how blocks enter the page as a visitor scrolls through your website.

Helpful Notes

Hover animations are most noticeable on computers that use a mouse or pointer.
Phones and other touchscreen devices may not display the same hover interaction.
The animation changes how an image responds to a visitor. It does not alter the original image file in your account.
Choose an effect that complements your design without distracting visitors from your images.
Select NONE if you do not want to apply a global image hover effect.
