Overview
The List Block is a flexible content block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder that lets you organize images, text, and videos into structured layouts. You can use List Blocks to showcase services, team members, testimonials, portfolio categories, promotions, process steps, calls to action, and other groups of related content.
This guide walks you through adding a List Block, managing its Items, choosing a layout, and customizing the block using the Items, Last Item, Layout, Styling, Colors, Background, Fonts, and Animation settings. You will also find links to more detailed guides for linking List Items, styling Last Item options, adding image borders, customizing fonts, and setting up Story Panels.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
Open the page where you want to add the List Block. You can also create a new page if needed.
Find the LIST icon on the right side of the Website Builder. Click and hold the LIST icon, then drag it to the location where you want the block to appear. Use the placement line to position the block, then release it to add the List Block to the page.
You can also click the LIST icon once to automatically add the block to the bottom of the page.
Choose how you want to start your List Block. Click SELECT under Blank Block to begin with an empty block, or click SELECT under a Pre-Designed Block to start with an existing design and sample content.
You can replace the sample images, text, and other content and customize the design after adding a Pre-Designed Block.
Click Items in the right-side panel to open EDIT LIST. From here, you can add an Image, Text, or Video Item and manage the Items already included in the List Block.
If you selected a Pre-Designed Block, replace its sample content with your own images, text, or videos.
Use the right-side panel to customize your List Block. The settings appear in this order: Items, Last Item, Layout, Styling, Colors, Background, Fonts, and Animation.
Choose the settings that work best for your content and click SAVE CHANGES after making updates. Saving automatically applies your changes to your website. There is no separate publish button.
Preview your page on desktop and mobile to make sure the finished List Block displays the way you want.
The Items section contains EDIT LIST, where you add and manage the content displayed in your List Block.
You can add three types of Items:
Use an Image Item when you want an image to be the main visual element.
Depending on the selected layout, an Image Item can include:
You can upload an image from your computer, add one from your clipboard, or choose an available stock image.
Use Alt Text to briefly describe meaningful images for visitors who use screen readers. You can use Ask PhotoBiz AI in this section to scan your image and write a description for you.
You can also make an Image Item clickable and direct visitors to another page or destination. For complete instructions, see How to Link a List Block Item.
Use a Text Item when you want to display content without an image.
A Text Item can include:
Click CREATE NOW after entering the content for your Text Item.
Video Items let you include video content inside your List Block.
You can:
Depending on your setup, you can also add a Cover Image, Title, Description, Alt Text, and Button.
If you need to upload a video first, see How to Upload Video to PhotoBiz.
To remove a List Item, drag the Item onto the Delete option in the List Block editor.
The Last Item setting controls what happens when your List Block contains more Items than the selected layout initially displays.
Available options include:
The available styling options for Last Item vary by List Block layout.
For complete setup and layout-specific styling instructions, see How to Adjust Last Item Load More Options in a List Block.
The Layout section controls how your List Items are arranged and displayed.
PhotoBiz includes the following List Block layouts:
Available Rows, Columns, Styling options, and content behavior vary by layout.
The Square, Portrait, and Landscape layouts use image-based designs that display the Title, Description, and Button when a visitor hovers over an item.
These layouts support:
Use these layouts when you want images to be the primary focus while keeping supporting content available on hover.
Editorial layouts include:
These layouts display supporting text below the image instead of relying on hover for the primary content.
Editorial layouts support:
Use Editorial layouts when you want titles and descriptions to remain visible as visitors scan the page.
The Pinboard layout creates a visual grid with differently sized content areas.
When a visitor hovers over an item, the Title and Description appear. Buttons are not shown in this layout.
Pinboard supports:
Modern layouts include:
Modern layouts keep the Title visible while using a simplified image-focused design.
Modern layouts support:
These layouts place the image on one side and the supporting text on the other.
Available options include:
These layouts are useful for services, team introductions, featured offerings, or other content where you want the image and text to share equal attention.
They also allow images to display without the same type of cropping used by some grid-based layouts.
The List Block includes:
Story Panels provide a more visual, sequential way to present images, text, and video instead of using a traditional grid. They can work well for client experiences, photography processes, testimonials, event highlights, before-and-after content, and vertical video.
For complete setup instructions, see How to Set Up Story Panels.
PhotoBiz also includes several specialized List Block layouts:
These layouts support:
Each layout uses a different combination of image shape, text placement, borders, or overlays. Choose the option that best matches the type of content and design style you want.
Contemporary layouts include:
These layouts support:
Use these layouts when you want an alternative grid style with a more structured column arrangement.
For layouts that support them, Rows and Columns control how many List Items appear within the block.
Rows determine how many horizontal groups of items can display. Columns determine how many items appear across each row.
The available Column settings depend on the layout:
The Image Left, Image Right, and Story Panel layouts use their own layout structure rather than the same Rows and Columns controls.
Avoid overcrowding a layout with too many columns, especially when your List Items contain longer Titles or Descriptions.
The Styling section controls spacing, alignment, borders, and other appearance settings for the selected layout.
Depending on the layout, available options may include:
Available settings vary by layout. If you change layouts, some Styling options may also change.
If you want to customize the border around images in your List Block, see How to Add Image Borders in a List Block on Your PhotoBiz Website.
Use Mobile View to control how List Items appear on phone screens.
Depending on the selected layout, you can choose one or two Columns for mobile devices. Your mobile configuration does not need to match the number of Columns used on desktop.
Preview your page on mobile after making changes.
The Colors section lets you override your website's global colors for the individual List Block.
The available color controls depend on the layout you choose.
The Background section lets you add a background image behind your List Block.
You can upload your own image or choose an available background. Display options include:
