Overview
You can link both image items and text items in a List Block to help visitors explore your portfolio, learn about your services, contact you, or book a session. Use each item’s LINK TO setting to choose a destination, such as a website page, form, file, or external website. You can also enter BUTTON TEXT to display a button with the item. This guide explains how to configure and test links for either item type.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on the WEBSITE option in the left-side menu.
In the page list on the left, click the page containing your List Block.
Locate the List Block in the page preview, then click it to open its settings.
In the EDIT LIST panel on the right, click the image item or text item you want to link under ITEMS. This opens that item’s settings.
Links are configured individually, so you can choose a different destination for each item. The linking instructions below apply to both image items and text items.
Scroll down in the item’s settings to find BUTTON TEXT and LINK TO.
If you want to display a button, enter its wording in BUTTON TEXT, such as “View Portfolio” or “Book a Session.” Leave this field blank if you do not want a button to appear.
Under LINK TO, select your destination type and complete the additional fields that appear.
For example, select PAGE, then select the destination under CHOOSE A PAGE. Under CHOOSE A BLOCK, select TOP OF THE PAGE or a specific block on that page.
For explanations of every destination option and its required fields, see How to Use the Link Picker in PhotoBiz.
| Link Type | What It Does |
|---|---|
| None | No link. The button is for looks only. |
| External Link | Link to a site or page outside your website (e.g., YouTube, blog, etc.). |
| Page | Link to another page within your PhotoBiz website. |
| Form | Connect to a form you've created using the Form Builder. |
| Marketing | Link to a Campaign or Landing Page you built with the Marketing tool. |
| File | Link to a downloadable file (PDF, JPG, PNG, or GIF) from your Files section. |
| Phone | Clicking the button dials your number on mobile devices. |
| Opens the user’s email app to send you a message. | |
| Address | Opens your address in Google Maps. |
| Video | Paste a YouTube or Vimeo embed code to play the video in a lightbox. |
| Pop-Ups | Show a custom pop-up when the button is clicked (great for promotions). |
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your link. Your saved changes take effect on your website without a separate publishing step.
Open the page on your website and test the linked item or button. Confirm that it opens the correct destination. If you selected a specific block, confirm that the link takes you to the intended section.
Repeat these steps for any additional List Block items you want to link.
Visitors can use the link you configured to open the selected destination or perform the selected action. For example, a link can open your portfolio page, display a form, or take visitors to a booking service.
If you entered BUTTON TEXT, visitors also see a button with that wording. Leaving BUTTON TEXT blank hides the button.
Use descriptive button text. Wording such as “View Wedding Packages” tells visitors what to expect.
Create the destination first. Forms, files, products, and other account content must exist before you can select them in the Link Picker.
Check the LINK TO setting. If you enter button text but leave LINK TO set to NONE, the button appears, but clicking it does nothing.
Test on mobile. Review the page on your phone and confirm that the links work as expected.
