Overview
The PhotoBiz Form & Contract Builder includes settings that control what happens after someone submits a form. You can display a thank you message, automatically email a confirmation to the person who submitted the form, receive submission notifications, or redirect visitors to a custom confirmation page.
You can also control how many submissions a form accepts and set an expiration date. This guide walks you through accessing these settings and explains what each option does.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click FORMS in the left-side menu.
This opens the Forms Dashboard.
Click FORMS at the top center of the Forms Dashboard.
This opens the area where you can manage your existing forms and create new ones.
Click the name of the form you want to update, or create a new form.
If you have multiple categories or pages of forms, use the search bar to locate the form you want to edit.
Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the form, then click SETTINGS from the menu.
This opens the settings panel for the form.
Review and update the submission settings you want to use. When you are finished, click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the settings panel.
Your updated settings will apply to future submissions of the form.
Thank You Message
The Thank You Message is the confirmation visitors see immediately after successfully submitting your form.
You can control the content of this message using the available fields:
Your thank you message is a good place to confirm that the submission was received and explain what the client should expect next.
Email Thank You Message
The Email Thank You Message setting controls whether the thank you message and a copy of the submitted form are automatically emailed to the person who submitted it.
When enabled, the confirmation is sent to the email address entered in the form.
You can use this message to provide:
PhotoBiz forms require an Email field. The email address entered in that field is used for the confirmation email and connects the form submission to the person in your built-in PhotoBiz Contacts.
For detailed instructions, see How To Set Up An Automated Reply To Form Submissions.
Email Notification
The Email Notification setting controls where you receive an email notification when someone submits the form.
If you leave the notification email field blank, PhotoBiz sends the notification to the email address associated with your PhotoBiz account login.
You can also enter multiple email addresses when more than one person needs to receive submission notifications. Separate each email address with a comma.
For detailed instructions, see Updating Email Settings for Form Submissions.
Custom Confirmation Page URL
The Custom Confirmation Page URL lets you send visitors to another webpage or file after they successfully submit the form.
Common uses include:
Enter the full URL of the page or file you want the visitor to see after submission.
If you leave the Custom Confirmation Page URL blank, the visitor remains on the form page and sees the standard confirmation message based on your Thank You Message settings.
For complete setup instructions, see How to Set Up a Custom Confirmation Page for PhotoBiz Forms and Contracts.
Important Note About Deleted Confirmation Pages or Files
Your form submission is recorded before the visitor is sent to the Custom Confirmation Page URL.
If the page or file used for your confirmation URL is later deleted, visitors can still submit the form successfully. However, they may be redirected to a 404 Page Not Found screen afterward.
If you delete or replace a confirmation page or file, update or remove the Custom Confirmation Page URL from the form settings.
The Settings area also includes options that control how long a form remains available and how many submissions it can accept.
Submission Limit
You can set a maximum number of submissions for a form. This can be useful for limited registrations, contests, applications, signups, or other workflows where you only want to accept a specific number of responses.
For detailed instructions, see How Can I Limit the Number of Submissions on One of My Forms.
Expiration Date
You can set an expiration date when you want a form to stop accepting new submissions automatically.
This can be useful for registration deadlines, seasonal promotions, applications, contests, and other time-sensitive forms.
For detailed instructions, see How Can I Set an Expiration Date for One of My Forms.
Any Tag applied to a PhotoBiz form is automatically added to the contact when the form is submitted. This applies whether the person is a new contact or already exists in your PhotoBiz Contacts.
Because the Email field is required on PhotoBiz forms, every form submission is connected to an email address in your built-in CRM.
If you use a custom confirmation page, periodically test the form to make sure the destination URL still works, especially after reorganizing website pages or replacing downloadable files.
Why didn't my client receive the confirmation email?
Confirm that the Email Thank You Message option is enabled and that the client entered a valid email address when submitting the form.
You should also have the client check their spam or junk folder if the message does not appear in their inbox.
Why didn't I receive a form submission notification?
Review the Email Notification setting and confirm that the notification address is entered correctly.
If the field is blank, the notification is sent to the email address associated with your PhotoBiz account login.
Why does my client see a 404 page after submitting the form?
Check the Custom Confirmation Page URL. The page or file used for the redirect may have been deleted, moved, or entered incorrectly.
The form submission itself is still recorded successfully. Update the Custom Confirmation Page URL and submit a test form to confirm the new destination works.
