Overview
An H1 heading is usually the main heading on a website page. It helps visitors quickly understand what the page is about and can also help search engines understand the main topic of the page.
Your PhotoBiz Website Builder allows you to add H1 markup in multiple ways. A Title Block automatically uses an H1 tag, while the Text Editor Block and Text + Image Block allow you to apply Heading 1 formatting to selected text.
This guide explains how to add an H1 heading to a page using each supported block type.
An H1 heading is the primary heading on a page. It should describe the main topic of that page in a clear and natural way.
For example:
H1 headings should be used for page structure, not just for visual styling. If you only want to make text larger, bold, or decorative, use the design and font settings available in your block instead.
You can add H1 markup to a website page using these block types:
Each option works a little differently. The Title Block automatically applies H1 markup to the title text. The Text Editor Block and Text + Image Block allow you to highlight text and choose Heading 1 from the formatting toolbar.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
Click the page where you want to add your H1 heading.
This could be a page such as Home, About, Pricing, Contact, Portfolio, or any custom page you have created in your Website Builder.
Use the blocks available in the right-side menu to choose how you want to add your H1 heading.
Click the block type you want to use. You can choose a Title Block, Text Editor Block, or Text + Image Block.
Add or format the main heading for your page.
If you use a Title Block, enter your heading text in the block. The Title Block automatically applies H1 markup to the text you add.
If you use a Text Editor Block or Text + Image Block, enter your heading text in the text area. Highlight the text you want to use as the H1 heading, then choose Heading 1 from the formatting toolbar.
Use a clear heading that describes the purpose of the page. For example, if you are editing a family photography pricing page, your H1 could be Family Photography Pricing.
Click Save to apply your changes to your website.
Your page now has H1 markup applied to the main heading. When you view the page, the heading should appear in the location where you added or formatted it.
The Title Block automatically applies an H1 tag to the text you add inside the block.
This option is helpful when you want to add a standalone page title or main heading. You do not need to manually choose Heading 1 when using a Title Block because the H1 markup is applied automatically.

Helpful guidelines include:
For example, a portrait photographer’s pricing page might use this structure:
This structure helps visitors scan the page and helps search engines understand how your content is organized.
You should use an H1 heading for the main topic of the page.
Common examples include:
For blog posts, the Blog Builder also supports heading tags. Title Blocks in the Blog Builder automatically apply H1 tags, and Text Editor Blocks allow you to apply Heading 1, Heading 2, or Heading 3 from the formatting toolbar.
If you already have a Title Block on your page, that block is already using H1 markup.
If you add Heading 1 formatting inside a Text Editor Block or Text + Image Block on the same page, review the page structure to make sure you are not adding extra H1 headings by accident.
If you are adding headings for SEO, focus on making them helpful for your visitors first. Your H1 should read naturally and match the content on the page.
