You can easily use an existing domain name that you have registered with your PhotoBiz account when you're ready to launch your PhotoBiz website. You will need access to your domain name settings to point the domain to your PhotoBiz account. This guide will walk you through the steps of submitting your domain name set up request to get your 4 unique name servers to point your existing domain to your PhotoBiz site.
If you need to purchase and register a new domain (.com, .net, .biz, or .org), please refer to this guide at the button below
IMPORTANT NOTE:
We recommend completing your website layout and design prior to setting up your domain name. During your domain set up process, you'll temporarily lose access to your website builder while the domain updates to point to your PhotoBiz account. This generally will take 24-48 hours and once your domain propagates and your SSL encryption goes live, you'll have access to your website builder and content restored.
STEP ONE
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on the DOMAINS option in the left side menu.
STEP TWO
Choose The Use Your Existing Domain option.
Click on the green button to request a domain set up with your existing domain registration.
STEP THREE
Enter Your Existing Domain Name & Brand Email Information
Enter your domain name here, there's also a question about branded email (Example: yourname@yourdomain.com).
IMPORTANT EMAIL NOTE:
- If you selected YES for the email question, you'll see there's a drop down menu to select your email service provider. You'll have the following options:
Google Workspace
Go Daddy
Office 365
Rackspace
Network Solutions
Other
If you choose other, we'll ask you to provide your email service provider's name to continue the domain set up process. We ask for this information to help avoid downtime for your email. The next screen will ask for details about your branded email as well as an alternative email so we can still reach you with the domain name servers.
- If you change your name servers before we have your email's MX records set up on our servers, your email will go down. Your email will be restored within 2-24 hours after your MX records have been added to our servers.
- If you selected NO for the email question and you would like domain-based email, we recommend PhotoBiz Mailbox. Click here for more information about Mailbox.
Your domain setup request is now completed! You will then see a confirmation message once you have submitted your domain setup request. Our domain specialists will follow up with you within 24 business hours via email to let you know your domain name setup has been completed. This will include your new, unique domain name servers and instructions on next steps.
If we are unable to complete the setup, we will notify you via email with information regarding the reason.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING BRANDED EMAIL: When we setup your domain name, if you have any existing email accounts associated with that domain name, those email account(s) will be temporarily unavailable during the transition period. Once your domain name has completed propagation, your email account(s) will function properly again.
If you don't have domain based email but you'd like to set it up for the first time, or if you'd like to switch your email provider to PhotoBiz, see the following articles:

After you've submitted your domain set up request, our web consultants will set up your domain on your PhotoBiz account and send you the specific name servers to update with your domain registrar.
