How to Use the Text + Image Block in PhotoBiz

Overview

The Text + Image Block lets you combine an image with written content in one section of your PhotoBiz website. It's a great way to introduce yourself, highlight photography services, explain your client experience, or promote special offers.

You can start with a blank block or choose from 11 predesigned options that automatically incorporate images from your clipboard and text generated from your Business Profile. PhotoBiz also includes 36 layouts, customizable styling, colors, fonts, backgrounds, and an optional call-to-action button.

This guide walks you through adding, customizing, and managing a Text + Image Block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder.

When to Use a Text + Image Block

A Text + Image Block is a good choice when you want written content and an image to work together within the same section of a page.

Common uses include:

Introducing yourself on an About page with a portrait and biography.
Highlighting a photography service with an image and description.
Explaining your photography process or client experience.
Promoting mini sessions, seasonal offers, or specialty services.
Pairing a testimonial or story with an image.
Creating alternating image-and-text sections throughout a page.

If your section is primarily written content, consider using a Text Editor Block. If images are the main focus, an Images Block may be a better choice. Use a Banner Block when you want a larger visual section, such as a hero image or promotional banner.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu. This opens the Website Builder, where you can create pages and manage the blocks on your website.

STEP TWO

Choose the page where you want to add the Text + Image Block, or create a new page.

In the Block Editor on the right side of the screen, click TEXT + IMAGE to add the block to your page.

STEP THREE

The SELECT TEXT IMAGE BLOCK panel opens on the right side of the Website Builder.

You can choose Blank to start with an empty Text + Image Block or select one of the 11 predesigned options (Text + Image 1 through Text + Image 11).

When you select a predesigned option, PhotoBiz automatically:

Uses an image from your clipboard if one is available. Otherwise, a placeholder image is used.
Generates text based on the information in your Business Profile.
Applies the selected design's layout and styling.

Click SELECT below your preferred option to add the block to your page.

You can replace the image, edit the generated text, and customize the layout and styling after adding the block.

STEP FOUR

After selecting your Text + Image Block in STEP THREE, the EDIT TEXT + IMAGE panel automatically opens with the TEXT section selected.

If you selected Blank, the TITLE and TEXT fields will be empty. Enter your heading in the TITLE field and add your written content in the TEXT editor.

If you selected a predesigned option, PhotoBiz automatically generates a title and written content based on your Business Profile. You can edit or replace this content to fit your page.

The TEXT editor includes formatting tools for bold, italic, underline, lists, text alignment, links, images, and headings. Use the VISUAL tab to format your content or the HTML tab to edit the HTML code.

You can also click ASK PHOTOBIZ AI to create new content or improve existing text. To provide specific instructions, click the text below the AI button to enter a custom prompt.

Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished.

STEP FIVE

Click IMAGE in the Text + Image Block editing menu to add or replace your image.

You can choose from the following options:

ADD FILES: Upload an image from your computer or drag and drop an image into the upload area.
CLIPBOARD: Select an image from your PhotoBiz clipboard.
STOCK IMAGES: Choose an image from the available stock image library.

If you selected a predesigned block, an image from your clipboard may already be included. You can replace it with another image at any time.

After adding an uploaded image or an image from your clipboard, you can adjust its focal point by selecting the area of the image you want to emphasize. This helps keep the important part of your image visible when it is cropped to fit your selected layout.

Focal point adjustments are not available for stock images.

Use the ALT TEXT field to describe your image for visitors using screen readers. You can write your own description or click ASK PHOTOBIZ AI to generate suggested alt text. Review the AI-generated description and make any necessary changes before saving.

Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished.

STEP SIX

Click BUTTON in the Text + Image Block editing menu to add an optional call-to-action button.

Enter the text you want visitors to see in the BUTTON TEXT field, such as "View Portfolio," "Learn More," or "Book Your Session."

Use the LINK TO dropdown menu to select where visitors should go when they click the button. You can link to another page on your website, an external website, a form, a file, or another supported destination.

If you don't want a button on your Text + Image Block, leave the BUTTON TEXT field blank. To remove an existing button, delete the text from this field.

Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished.

FINAL STEP

Review the completed Text + Image Block on your page. Make sure your text is easy to read, the important part of your image remains visible, and any button you added opens the correct destination.

Click SAVE CHANGES after making any final adjustments.

Your saved changes automatically apply to your website. There is no separate publish button.

Text + Image Layout Options

PhotoBiz includes 36 layouts for the Text + Image Block, giving you different ways to arrange your images and written content.

Click LAYOUT in the Text + Image Block editing menu to view the available layouts.

The layout panel automatically scrolls to your currently selected layout, which is highlighted with an outline. You can browse the available layouts and preview how each design positions your image, text, and optional button.

To change your layout, click SAVE below the layout you want to use. PhotoBiz applies the selected layout to your Text + Image Block.

Some layouts include additional customization options, such as text overlays, image borders, or text wrapping. The settings available under STYLING may vary depending on your selected layout.

Styling Options

Click STYLING in the Text + Image Block editing menu to customize the appearance, alignment, and spacing of your block.

The available styling options depend on your selected layout. Depending on the layout you're using, you may see the following settings:

Overlay Opacity: Adjusts the transparency of the overlay on supported layouts. A lower percentage makes the overlay more transparent, while 100% makes it fully opaque.
Text Wrap: Allows written content to wrap around the image on supported layouts.
Title Alignment: Controls whether your title is aligned to the left, center, or right.
Button Alignment: Controls whether your optional button is aligned to the left, center, or right.
Image Border Thickness: Adjusts the thickness of the border around your image on supported layouts.
Space Below Blocks: Controls the spacing between your Text + Image Block and the next block on your page.
Space Inside Blocks: Controls the spacing within your Text + Image Block.
Flushing: Controls how supported layouts use the available page width.

For SPACE BELOW BLOCKS and SPACE INSIDE BLOCKS, you can select None, Ultra Thin, Thin, Medium, or Thick.

Click SAVE CHANGES after making your adjustments.

Color Options

Click COLORS in the Text + Image Block editing menu to customize the colors used in your block.

Your block uses colors from your website's global design settings by default. You can customize individual colors to give your Text + Image Block a different appearance without changing the colors used throughout the rest of your website.

Depending on your selected website template, available color settings may include:

Title Color: Controls the color of the block's title.
Text Color: Controls the color of the written content.
Background Color: Sets the background color behind the block's content.
Overlay Color: Controls the color of overlays used with supported layouts.
Border Color: Sets the color of image borders on supported layouts.
Button Text Color: Controls the color of the button's text.
Button Border Color: Sets the color of the button's border.
Button Contrast Color: Controls the contrasting color used for supported button treatments.

To change a color, click its color swatch or color value, then select your preferred color.

When you override a color from your website's global settings, PhotoBiz identifies that setting as CUSTOMIZED. This helps you distinguish individual block colors from those inherited from your website design.

Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished.

Background Options

Click BACKGROUND in the Text + Image Block editing menu to customize the background behind your block's content.

Under BACKGROUND IMAGE, you can choose from three options:

No Background: Removes the background image from the block.
Custom Background: Upload your own background image in JPG or PNG format. The maximum image dimensions are 3000 pixels wide by 1730 pixels high.
Background Library: Choose an image from PhotoBiz's available background library.

If you select Custom Background, click ADD FILES to upload an image from your computer, or drag and drop your image into the upload area.

Under BACKGROUND SETTINGS, choose how your background image is displayed:

Tile: Repeats the image to fill the background.
Top Left: Aligns the image to the upper-left corner of the available space.
Centered: Positions the image in the center of the available space.
Cover: Scales the image to cover the entire background area.

Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished.

Helpful Note: The background image is separate from the main image in your Text + Image Block. Changing the background does not replace the image you added under IMAGE.

Font Options

Click FONTS in the Text + Image Block editing menu to view and customize the fonts used in your block.

By default, your Text + Image Block uses the fonts configured in your website's global design settings. You can override these settings for an individual block without changing the fonts used throughout your website.

You can customize the following text areas:

TITLE: The main title of your Text + Image Block.
PARAGRAPH: The written content in your block.
HEADING H1, H2, and H3: Heading styles used within the Text Editor.
BUTTON TEXT: The text displayed on your optional call-to-action button.

Click the font preview for the area you want to customize. You can adjust the font family, size, letter spacing, and line height.

When you override a global font setting, PhotoBiz displays a CUSTOMIZED indicator to help identify settings that differ from your website's global design.

Save your changes when you are finished.

Button Animations

Click ANIMATION in the Text + Image Block editing menu to customize how your optional call-to-action button responds when visitors hover over it.

Under BUTTON HOVER ANIMATION, you can select from five options:

None: No hover animation is applied.
Fill: Adds a fill-style animation when visitors hover over the button.
Overlay: Adds an overlay-style hover effect.
Scale: Changes the size of the button during the hover effect.
Arrows: Adds an arrow-style animation when visitors hover over the button.

Select your preferred animation, then click SAVE CHANGES.

If your Text + Image Block does not include a button, this setting will not affect the block.

Using Ask PhotoBiz AI

Ask PhotoBiz AI helps you create or improve written content and generate image alt text for your Text + Image Block.

Generate or Rewrite Text

Click TEXT in the Text + Image Block editing menu, then click ASK PHOTOBIZ AI to generate new text or rewrite existing content.

Ask PhotoBiz AI uses information from your Business Profile to create content that better reflects your business and brand.

If you want to provide more specific instructions, click the text below ASK PHOTOBIZ AI to enter a custom prompt.

You can use a custom prompt to focus your content on a particular service, audience, message, or writing style.

Review the generated text, make any necessary changes, and click SAVE CHANGES.

Generate Image Alt Text

Click IMAGE in the editing menu and select ASK PHOTOBIZ AI beside the ALT TEXT field.

Ask PhotoBiz AI analyzes your image and generates a suggested description.

Review the generated alt text and make any necessary changes before clicking SAVE CHANGES.

AI Request Usage

Each time you use ASK PHOTOBIZ AI to generate or rewrite text or create image alt text, it counts as one AI request.

The PhotoBiz Website Package includes 100 AI requests per month. These requests are shared across supported PhotoBiz AI tools and reset at the beginning of each month.

Using Text + Image Blocks with DuoBuild

The Text + Image Block supports DuoBuild, a built-in feature in the PhotoBiz Website Builder that automatically places two supported blocks side by side.

When you position a Text + Image Block next to another DuoBuild-compatible block, the two blocks automatically snap into a two-column layout.

DuoBuild gives you another way to create side-by-side content without using a separate page template or layout setting.

You can pair a Text + Image Block with another supported block, such as a Text Editor Block, Images Block, Banner Block, Video Block, Form Block, Button Block, or HTML Block.

Managing Your Text + Image Block

The Text + Image Block includes a management menu that allows you to copy, move, rename, change the layout, adjust advanced settings, or delete the entire block.

To access these options, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of your Text + Image Block.

Available Block Management Options

COPY: Creates a duplicate of your Text + Image Block directly below the original. You can edit the copied block independently without changing the original. For instructions, see How to Move or Copy Blocks Between Pages.
MOVE: Moves your existing Text + Image Block to another website page or repositions it at the top or bottom of the current page. Moving the block preserves its content and settings. For complete instructions, see How to Use the Move Function With Blocks.
RENAME: Gives your Text + Image Block a custom name for easier identification in the Website Builder. You can also use block names to create anchor links that direct visitors to a specific section of a website page. For instructions, see How to Rename Blocks and Add Anchor Links.
CHANGE LAYOUT: Opens the layout selection panel, where you can choose a different arrangement for your image and text without recreating the block. For instructions, see How to Change the Text + Image Block Layout.
ADVANCED: Opens the Text + Image Block editing panel, where you can manage your text, image, button, layout, styling, colors, background, fonts, and animations. These are the same customization options covered earlier in this guide.
DELETE: Opens the confirmation panel for deleting the entire Text + Image Block.

Deleting an Entire Text + Image Block

Deleting an entire Text + Image Block removes the block and its content from your website page.

To delete the block, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of your Text + Image Block and select DELETE.

PhotoBiz displays a DELETE BLOCK confirmation message warning that the action cannot be undone and that the block and all content within it will be permanently deleted.

Click YES, DELETE IT to permanently remove the block from your website page, or click CANCEL to keep the block.

Important: Deleted Text + Image Blocks cannot be recovered. If you want to preserve the block's content or design, consider making a copy before deleting it.

What Your Clients See

Visitors to your website see the image, title, and written content displayed together using your selected Text + Image layout.

Depending on your design, the text may appear beside the image, overlap part of the image, or use another arrangement.

The block adjusts its presentation to accommodate different screen sizes, including desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices. Image positioning and cropping may change depending on the selected layout and available screen space.

If you've added a call-to-action button, visitors can click it to open the destination you selected, such as your portfolio, contact form, booking page, or another website.

Any colors, backgrounds, fonts, and styling adjustments you've saved are also reflected in the block's appearance.

Helpful Notes

Blank and predesigned options are different from layouts. The 11 predesigned options provide starting designs, while the 36 layouts let you change how your image and text are arranged after adding the block.
Paste text without unwanted formatting. When copying text from another program, pasting as plain text can help prevent unwanted formatting. Use Command + Shift + V on Mac or Ctrl + Shift + V on supported Windows applications.
Review your website on multiple devices. Check your Text + Image Block on desktop and mobile after making layout or image changes.
Keep important subjects visible. Use the image focal point when an uploaded or clipboard image needs a specific subject to remain visible.
Use descriptive alt text. Describe meaningful image content to help visitors using screen readers understand your website.
Customize individual blocks when needed. You can override global colors and fonts for a particular Text + Image Block without changing your website's overall design.
