If you already have an image gallery page on your PhotoBiz website, you’re off to a great start. However, galleries that only contain images can miss important opportunities to appear in search results.
Search engines cannot fully understand images on their own. Adding descriptive titles, written content, and proper SEO settings helps Google understand what your gallery page is about and who it should be shown to.
This guide walks you through how to improve an existing gallery page so it is easier for potential clients to find in search engines while also creating a better experience for your website visitors.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
Locate the gallery page you want to improve in your list of website pages. Click the page to open it in the Website Builder.
Once the page loads, click on the Images Block that contains your gallery photos. This allows you to review and update the images currently displayed on that page.
Review and Curate Your Images
Take time to review the images currently displayed in your gallery.
Aim to show a strong, curated selection of your best work. Most gallery pages perform best with approximately 30–50 images. This keeps the page visually engaging without slowing down load times.
If your gallery contains too many images, remove duplicates, outdated photos, or work that no longer reflects your current style. Keeping your gallery updated ensures potential clients see the quality of work you currently provide.
If your gallery contains a large number of images, consider enabling the Load More option so that images load in batches instead of all at once. This helps improve page speed, which is an important factor for search engines and user experience.
When possible, add alt text to your images to briefly describe what is shown in the photo. Alt text helps search engines understand the content of your images and also improves accessibility for visitors using screen readers.
Add or Update Your Page Title
Every gallery page should have a clear title that explains what the gallery contains.
Add or update a Title Block at the top of your page. The text inside the Title Block automatically becomes the page’s H1 tag, which is the most important heading for search engines.
Your title should describe the type of photography featured in the gallery and, when possible, include the location you serve.
Example:
Senior Photography in Asheville, NC
Use only one H1 title per page to keep the structure clear for search engines.
Write or Update Your Page Description
Image galleries should include written content that explains the type of photography featured on the page.
Below your title, add a Text Editor Block with a description of your services. Aim for 300–500 words of natural, helpful content.
Your description should explain:
• The type of photography featured in the gallery
• Who the service is for (seniors, families, couples, etc.)
• The location or areas you serve
• What makes your photography style unique
Example:
Jane Doe Photography specializes in modern senior portraits in Charlotte, North Carolina and surrounding areas. Senior sessions are designed to highlight each student’s personality and interests, whether they are athletes, musicians, artists, or scholars. Sessions can take place in studio or at outdoor locations throughout the area. The goal is to create meaningful portraits that celebrate this exciting milestone while providing families with beautiful images to share and display.
Write for your potential clients first. Search engines favor content that is helpful, readable, and written for real people.

Add a Call to Action or Contact Form
A gallery page should guide visitors toward the next step rather than leaving them with nowhere to go.
Consider adding one or more of the following blocks near the bottom of your gallery page:
• Form Block so visitors can contact you about booking a session
• Button Block linking to your pricing, booking page, or session information
• Text Editor Block linking to related galleries or services
Examples of effective button text include:
• Book Your Session
• View Pricing and Packages
• Contact the Studio
• See More Galleries
These elements help turn website visitors into potential clients while also encouraging visitors to continue exploring your website.
Check and Customize Your SEO Settings
In addition to the content visible on your page, PhotoBiz allows you to customize behind-the-scenes SEO settings that help search engines understand your page.
In the Website Builder, click the SEO button in the page toolbar.
You can switch from Auto SEO to Custom SEO to manually adjust your settings.
Update the following fields:
• SEO Page Title – A clear, keyword-focused title for search results
• Meta Description – A short description summarizing the page
• Keywords – Optional phrases related to the page content
Example SEO Page Title:
Senior Photos in Asheville NC | Jane Doe Photography
Each page on your website should have unique SEO information. Avoid copying the same title or description from other pages.

• Keep your gallery updated with your newest work
• Avoid overcrowding pages with too many images
• Use descriptive page titles that include your photography niche
