How To Edit Your Website Meta Data
This video tutorial will walk you through the steps of customizing the SEO meta data in your PhotoBiz website.
You can easily edit the meta data for every page in your PhotoBiz website. You can edit the meta title, meta description, and meta keywords.
Meta data is what tells Google how your website should be categorized. Each page on your website should have its own, unique metadata that clearly describes the content of the page and focuses on the who, what, and where of your business. This guide will walk you through the steps on how to edit the meta data for your PhotoBiz website.
STEP ONE
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on the WEBSITE tab in left side menu.
STEP TWO
Click on the web page you'd like to edit your meta data for and then click on the SEO button on the right side of the page.
STEP THREE
Under the METAS section, click on the drop down menu for Search Engine Preview and choose CUSTOM.
FINAL STEP
After you've selected Custom, you'll be able to customize your Meta Title, Meta Description, and Meta Keywords.
You can follow these same steps for every page in your website to be sure that each page has its own custom metadata.
For Best Practices:
- META TITLE: Your Page Title is a brief & accurate description of your website & business. Appears in both Google search and open browser tabs. The best practice for a meta title is to be use 55-60 characters.
Meta Title Example: Jenny Jones Wedding Photography | Greater Los Angeles Area.
- META DESCRIPTION: Your Page description should summarize your page's content. Search engines use this to give users a brief summary of the page/website before they click on it. The best practice for your meta description is to use between 50-155 characters.
Meta Description Example: Jenny Jones is a PPA certified photographer who has specialized in wedding and engagement photography for over 5 years. Serving the greater Los Angeles Area.
- META KEYWORDS: Keywords and phrases should be unique, separated by commas, and relevant to the content of your page. You should use no more than 15 keyword phrases per page to avoid being penalized by search engines.
Meta Keywords Example: Jenny Jones Wedding Photography, Los Angeles Wedding Photography, Los Angeles Wedding Portraits
Be sure to click on SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the SEO section to apply your updates.
