How to Add an Image or GIF Inside a Text Editor Block in PhotoBiz

Overview

You can add an image or animated GIF inside a Text Editor Block when you want it to appear directly within written content on a PhotoBiz website page. This can be helpful for adding a small flyer, badge, logo, pricing graphic, visual reference, or animated GIF inside a text area.

For most website layouts, we recommend using an Text + Image Block, Images Block, or List Block instead. These blocks are designed for displaying images and provide better control over layout, spacing, image placement, and mobile display.

This guide walks you through how to upload an image to your PhotoBiz Files area, copy the image link, and insert the image inside a Text Editor Block.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the image or GIF file ready to upload.

Supported image files for embedding include:

  • JPG
  • JPEG
  • PNG
  • GIF

Animated GIFs can be embedded using this method. Other file types, such as PDFs, DOCX files, pricing guides, or ZIP files, should be linked instead of embedded as images.

Recommended Option

For most website pages, use one of the image-based block options instead of embedding an image inside a Text Editor Block.

  • Use an Images Block when you want to display one or more images in a visual section.
  • Use a Text + Image Block when you want text and an image displayed together in a designed layout.
  • Use a List Block when you want to display multiple items with images, titles, descriptions, or links.
  • Use the Text Editor Block image option only when the image or GIF needs to appear directly inside formatted text.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click FILES in the left-side menu.

This opens your Files area, where you can upload and manage files saved to your account.

STEP TWO

Click DOCUMENTS at the top center of your Files control panel.

This opens your document library, where you can upload files and access the file links needed to add images or GIFs inside a Text Editor Block.

STEP THREE

Click ADD FILES under the file upload section and upload your image or GIF.

After the file is uploaded, it will appear in your Library list. For best results, use a clear file name before uploading so the file is easy to identify later.

STEP FOUR

Copy the URL for the image or GIF from the LINK column in your File Library.

This URL is the direct link to the uploaded file. You will paste this link into the image field inside the Text Editor Block.

STEP FIVE

Click WEBSITE in the left-side menu of your PhotoBiz control panel.

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content blocks.

STEP SIX

Select the page that contains the Text Editor Block where you want the image or GIF to appear.

Click the Text Editor Block to open it for editing. If the page does not already have a Text Editor Block, add a new Text Editor Block before continuing.

STEP SEVEN

In the Text Editor toolbar, click the Insert Image option.

This opens the image settings window, where you can add the image URL and alt text.

STEP EIGHT

Paste the image or GIF URL you copied from your File Library into the image URL field.

Add alt text that briefly describes the image. Alt text helps with accessibility because it gives screen readers a description of the image. It can also support SEO when the description is clear and relevant.

For example, use Studio newborn session pricing guide instead of image or photo.

FINAL STEP

Click OK to add the image or GIF to your Text Editor Block, then scroll down and click Save Changes.

After your changes are saved, the image or animated GIF will display inside the Text Editor Block on your website page.

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

When to Use a Text Editor Block for Images or GIFs

Embedding an image or GIF inside a Text Editor Block works best for simple inline images, small graphics, badges, logos, flyers, icons, reference images, or animated GIFs.

For more flexible image placement, use a Text + Image Block or Images Block instead. Dedicated image-based blocks usually provide better spacing, layout control, and mobile display.

Adding an Animated GIF to a PhotoBiz Website

Animated GIFs can be added to a Text Editor Block using the same steps as a regular image. Upload the GIF to Files, open Documents, copy the URL from the LINK column, and paste it into the Insert Image option in the Text Editor toolbar.

For best results, use optimized GIF files. Large GIF files can slow down your page, especially on image-heavy photography websites.

Linking to Other File Types

Only image files such as JPG, JPEG, PNG, and GIF can be embedded directly as images inside a Text Editor Block.

If you are using another file type, such as a PDF, DOCX, ZIP file, pricing guide, or downloadable form, link to the file instead.

To link to a file inside the Text Editor Block, highlight the text you want visitors to click, click the Link icon in the toolbar, paste the file URL into the URL field, and click OK. Click Save Changes when you are finished.

Tips for Best Results

Use clear file names before uploading your files. This makes it easier to identify the correct file in your File Library later.

Use optimized image files whenever possible. Very large image files can affect page loading speed, especially on image-heavy photography websites.

Use animated GIFs carefully. GIF files can be large, so it is best to use them only when they add value to the page.

If the image appears too large, resize the image before uploading it again or use an Images Block for better display control.

Troubleshooting or FAQs

Why should I use an Images Block or Text + Image Block instead?

Images Block and Text + Image Block are built specifically for displaying images on your website. They provide better control over layout, spacing, and mobile display than placing an image inside a Text Editor Block.

When should I use the Text Editor Block image option?

Use this option when the image or GIF needs to appear directly inside a section of written content. This may be helpful for small graphics, flyers, badges, logos, animated GIFs, or reference images.

Can I add an animated GIF to a Text Editor Block?

Yes. Animated GIFs can be added to a Text Editor Block using the same steps as a regular image. Upload the GIF to Files > Documents, copy the URL from the LINK column, and paste the URL into the Insert Image option in the Text Editor toolbar.

Why is my image or GIF not displaying?

Check that the image or GIF URL was copied from the LINK column in your File Library and pasted correctly into the image URL field. You should also confirm that the file uploaded successfully to your Documents library.

Can I add alt text to the image or GIF?

Yes. When you insert the image or GIF, add alt text that briefly describes it. This helps screen readers understand the image and supports website accessibility.

Why will my PDF or document not display as an image?

PDFs, documents, ZIP files, and similar file types cannot be embedded as images inside a Text Editor Block. Instead, link to the file using the Link icon in the Text Editor toolbar.
