Overview
PhotoBiz includes tracking tools to help you understand how visitors interact with your pop-ups. From your Marketing Dashboard, you can review how many times a pop-up appeared on a page, how often someone clicked a button, and how often someone clicked the X or no thank you to close it. You can also open an individual report to review its totals and a preview of the pop-up. This guide explains how to access these reports and use your results to evaluate your pop-up messages.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click MARKETING in the left-side menu.
This opens your Marketing Dashboard, where you can review a summary of your marketing activity. You can also click dashboard graphs, campaign names, and report links to access more detailed tracking information.
For an overview of these reporting options, see How to Use the Marketing Dashboard in PhotoBiz.
At the top of the Marketing Dashboard, click TRACKING.
This opens the tracking area, where you can choose the type of marketing activity you want to review.
Select POP-UPS from the TYPE dropdown menu, then click RUN SEARCH.
This displays your pop-up tracking results. Only published and expired pop-ups appear in tracking. Unpublished and deleted pop-ups do not appear.
Click RUN SEARCH to display your pop-up tracking results.
Click the PUBLISH DATE or POP-UP NAME of the pop-up you want to review.
This opens the detailed tracking report for that pop-up.
Review the publication date and the totals for TOTAL VIEWS, TOTAL CLICKS, and TOTAL CLOSED at the top of the report.
Below these totals, you’ll see a preview of the pop-up. Use the preview alongside your results to review its message, design, and call to action.
You can now see how often your pop-up appeared and how visitors interacted with its buttons and close icon.
Total Views
TOTAL VIEWS shows how many times the pop-up appeared on a page. This counts appearances, not unique visitors.
A recorded view does not confirm that someone read the entire message or took action.
Total Clicks
TOTAL CLICKS shows how many times someone clicked a button on the pop-up. Use this information to evaluate engagement with your call to action.
A button click does not confirm a completed purchase, booking, or form submission. Review the corresponding orders, bookings, or submissions to confirm those results.
Total Closed
TOTAL CLOSED shows how many times someone clicked the X to close the pop-up.
A close does not necessarily mean the visitor disliked your message. They may have finished reading it or wanted to continue browsing.
Compare Pop-Ups with Similar Goals
Compare pop-ups that serve similar purposes, such as booking announcements, special offers, or studio updates. Consider where each pop-up appears and how long it has been available.
A pop-up displayed across your website has more opportunities to receive views than one displayed on a single page. Review the totals in that context rather than judging performance by the numbers alone.
Review Your Message and Call to Action
If a pop-up receives views but few button clicks, review what you are asking visitors to do. Explain the benefit clearly and use descriptive button text, such as “View Mini Sessions” or “Book Your Session.”
Test the button to confirm that it opens the intended destination. Try changing one element at a time to help you assess its effect.
For editing instructions, see How to Create and Publish a Pop-Up in PhotoBiz.
Check Completed Actions Separately
Use pop-up tracking alongside the results that matter to your business, such as inquiries, bookings, purchases, or newsletter sign-ups.
If your pop-up includes a form, review that form’s submissions to confirm completed responses. TOTAL CLICKS measures button clicks on the pop-up and should not be used as a count of completed form submissions.

Published and Expired Pop-Ups Appear in Tracking
Tracking reports are available for published and expired pop-ups. Unpublished and deleted pop-ups do not appear in the tracking section.
If you want to stop displaying a pop-up while keeping its report available, let it expire instead of unpublishing or deleting it.
Deleted Pop-Up Tracking Data Cannot Be Recovered
Deleting a pop-up permanently removes its tracking data. Review any results you need before deleting the pop-up.
I don’t see my pop-up in the results
Confirm that you selected POP-UPS and clicked RUN SEARCH. On the results screen, check the year selected under DATE. To review another year, select it and click SEARCH.
The pop-up must be published or expired to appear. Unpublished and deleted pop-ups do not appear in tracking, and tracking data for deleted pop-ups cannot be recovered.
My pop-up has few or no views
Review its publish date, expiration date, and display settings in the Pop-Up Builder. Confirm that it is configured to appear in the intended website or Client Galleries location.
Visit that location and allow for any display delay. Frequency settings can also affect whether you see the pop-up again after closing it.
For more information, see How Often Can Pop-Ups Appear on My Website?.
My pop-up receives views but few clicks
Consider the purpose of the message. An announcement may communicate everything visitors need without requiring a button click.
If your goal is to encourage bookings, purchases, or visits to another page, review the message, button text, and linked destination. Make sure the next action is clear and relevant to the visitor.
