Overview
The Policy Settings section of your PhotoBiz account controls the privacy acknowledgment and email marketing consent options shown to visitors. You can add a required GDPR policy checkbox, link visitors to a Privacy Policy page, provide a backup privacy statement, and display an optional marketing email opt-in checkbox.
These settings can appear in Forms, Client Galleries, Scheduler, and ECommerce checkout. PhotoBiz records each contact’s response when they submit information through one of these supported areas.
This guide explains how to configure your Policy Settings, understand the consent details shown on contact profiles, and save your changes.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click MY ACCOUNT in the left-side menu.
Hover over SETTINGS at the top of the My Account controls, then click POLICY SETTINGS in the drop-down menu.
The Policy Settings page includes the GDPR POLICY CHECKBOX LABEL, BACKUP PRIVACY POLICY, and MARKETING EMAILS OPT-IN sections.
Enter the privacy and consent wording that applies to your business.
Use GDPR POLICY CHECKBOX LABEL to create a required privacy acknowledgment visitors must select before submitting their information. You can link part of this text to a Privacy Policy page on your website.
Use BACKUP PRIVACY POLICY to provide a basic privacy statement when you do not have a separate Privacy Policy page.
Use MARKETING EMAILS OPT-IN to create an optional checkbox visitors can select when they want to receive promotional or marketing emails from your business.
You can leave any section blank when you do not want to use that setting.
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your updates.
Your enabled policy and consent options will automatically appear in the supported areas of your PhotoBiz account. There is no separate publish step.
Use GDPR POLICY CHECKBOX LABEL to enter the acknowledgment visitors must select before submitting their information.
You can write your own statement and link part of the text to a Privacy Policy page on your website. For example:
I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy.
The GDPR policy acknowledgment appears as a required checkbox in:
Visitors must select the checkbox before they can submit their information or complete the applicable action.
If your website already has a Privacy Policy page, add a link to that page within the text entered under GDPR POLICY CHECKBOX LABEL.
For example, you can enter “I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy” and link the words Privacy Policy to the page on your website.
When a visitor clicks the linked text, the Privacy Policy page opens so they can review it before selecting the required checkbox.
When a visitor selects the required GDPR policy checkbox and submits their information, their contact profile displays:
Because the GDPR checkbox is required, visitors cannot complete the submission without agreeing to the policy.
The contact profile may display Agrees to Policies: No Answer when PhotoBiz does not have a recorded response for that contact. This can happen when:
The BACKUP PRIVACY POLICY field gives visitors access to privacy information when you do not have a separate Privacy Policy page.
You can use this field to explain:
The backup privacy statement is used when you have not added a link within the GDPR POLICY CHECKBOX LABEL.
When the checkbox label contains a link, visitors are directed to the linked Privacy Policy page instead of the backup privacy statement.
For the clearest visitor experience, create a dedicated Privacy Policy page on your website and link to it from the GDPR policy checkbox label.
Use MARKETING EMAILS OPT-IN to give visitors the choice to receive promotional or marketing emails from your business.
Enter the statement you want visitors to see in the Checkbox Label field. For example:
I would like to receive news, promotions, and marketing emails.
The marketing email opt-in checkbox can appear in:
The marketing email opt-in checkbox is optional for visitors. It is separate from the required GDPR policy checkbox, so visitors can acknowledge your privacy practices without agreeing to receive marketing emails.
PhotoBiz records the contact’s response when they submit their information through a supported area where the marketing email opt-in checkbox appears.
The contact profile displays:
No Answer can appear when:

All Policy Settings are optional. Only enable the settings that apply to your business and how you collect visitor information.
Use clear wording so visitors understand what they are agreeing to. Keep marketing consent separate from the required privacy acknowledgment.
Do not manually opt a contact into marketing emails or confirm their agreement to your policies unless the contact has given you permission.
Privacy and marketing consent requirements can vary by country, state, or region. Consider consulting a qualified legal professional if you need help creating policies for your business. PhotoBiz cannot provide legal advice.
Do these settings create a Privacy Policy for me?
The BACKUP PRIVACY POLICY field allows you to enter basic privacy information, but PhotoBiz does not generate legal policy language for your business. You are responsible for providing policy text that accurately represents your business practices.
Can I require visitors to receive marketing emails?
No. The marketing email opt-in checkbox is optional for visitors and should remain separate from the required GDPR privacy acknowledgment.
Why is my backup privacy policy not appearing?
Check the GDPR POLICY CHECKBOX LABEL for a link. When a link is added to that field, visitors are directed to the linked Privacy Policy page instead of the backup privacy statement.
Why does a contact show No Answer?
No Answer means PhotoBiz does not have a recorded response for that setting. The feature may not be enabled, the contact may have been imported or created manually, or the contact may not have submitted information through a supported area since the setting was enabled.
Where do these settings appear?
Both the GDPR policy checkbox and the marketing email opt-in checkbox can appear in Forms, Client Galleries, Scheduler, and ECommerce checkout.
