PhotoBiz has upgraded its Domain Name System (DNS) to Amazon Route 53. Route 53 is a secure, reliable, and scalable DNS service that helps your website load faster and operate more reliably.
You can switch to this upgraded system at no additional cost. This guide walks you through generating your new Route 53 name servers in PhotoBiz and updating them with your domain registrar.
If you are currently using PhotoBiz name servers with Rackspace, you will not experience downtime during this change.
Switching to Route 53 improves performance, security, and DNS management.
Improved Speed and Reliability
Amazon Route 53 is a globally distributed DNS service designed for high availability. This helps your website load efficiently and remain stable, even during traffic spikes.
Enhanced Security
Route 53 provides strong infrastructure-level protections that help safeguard your domain from common DNS-related vulnerabilities and disruptions.
Seamless SSL Integration
Using PhotoBiz name servers ensures your SSL certificate functions properly. Your secure HTTPS connection stays active and correctly configured without additional setup.
Easier DNS Management
Upgrading to Route 53 allows you to manage DNS directly inside your PhotoBiz control panel.
If you are using PhotoBiz for your website and services, you can edit and manage records such as:
A Records (website connection)
MX Records (email routing)
CNAME Records
TXT Records
Managing DNS in one place reduces the need to log into third-party registrar accounts for record changes and helps prevent configuration errors.
Before you begin, make sure:
Your domain name is connected to your PhotoBiz account
You have login access to your domain registrar (where your domain is registered)
You are able to update name servers in your registrar account
If you are unsure who your registrar is, see the section below.
If you do not know where your domain is registered, you can perform a WHOIS lookup.
Go to:
https://www.misk.com/tools/#whois
Enter your domain name (example: yourdomain.com) and click WHOIS.
In the results, look for:
Registrar – The company where your domain is registered
Reseller – Some domains are registered through third-party services, and this name may look more familiar
You will need to log into that company’s account to update your name servers.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click DOMAINS in the left-side menu of your control panel.
If your domain is not already using Amazon Route 53 name servers, you will see a notification message inside your Domains section.
Check the box labeled Yes, move my DNS records to Route 53.
Once selected, the system will generate four new Amazon Route 53 name servers. These name servers are unique to your specific domain in your PhotoBiz account.
After they are generated, they will display in your control panel. Keep this screen open or copy the four name servers so you can enter them in your domain registrar account.
Update Your Name Servers at Your Registrar
Log into your domain registrar account (where your domain is registered).
Locate the section for:
Name Servers
DNS Settings
Domain Settings
Replace your current name servers with the four new Route 53 name servers shown in your PhotoBiz control panel.
Save your changes.
DNS updates can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate, although many updates complete sooner.
Once updated, your domain will begin using Amazon Route 53.
