Overview
You can upload supported files to your PhotoBiz account through FILES → DOCUMENTS. Once uploaded, each file has a direct URL you can share or use in areas that accept a web address. In supported areas of PhotoBiz, you can also connect buttons, images, and other elements to your document by selecting FILE under LINK TO. This guide explains how to upload a file, find its URL, and create a link so visitors or clients can access it.
The Documents area supports these file types:
Images and graphics: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, PSD, ICO, SVG
Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX
Spreadsheets: XLS, XLSX
Fonts: TTF, OTF, WOFF2
Compressed files: ZIP
Audio: MP3
Web files: JS, CSS
If your file type is not supported, you may be able to place it inside a ZIP file and upload the ZIP instead. A ZIP file also lets you combine multiple files into one download.
The PhotoBiz Website Package allows uploads up to 4 MB per file.
The Original Files upgrade increases the upload limit to 50 MB per file. If your file exceeds your account’s limit, reduce its size before uploading or add the upgrade if the file is within the 50 MB limit.
For instructions, see How to Add the Original Files Upgrade to Your PhotoBiz Account.
You can use uploaded documents for:
Website downloads: Connect Button Blocks, images, List Block items, text links, or navigation links to pricing guides, forms, and other resources.
Email marketing: Share a PDF through a linked button or image. See How to Link a PDF to an Email Marketing Campaign.
Digital products: Attach a file to a product for delivery after purchase. See Selling Digital Product Downloads in PhotoBiz ECommerce.
Lead generation: Offer a file through a form. See How to Use Forms for Free Downloads and Lead Generation.
Blog posts and client emails: Include a link to a document or downloadable resource.
Third-party tools: Use the direct file URL wherever the tool accepts a web address.
Uploading a document makes it available to use in your account. You still need to connect it to the button, form, product, or other content that will provide access to it.
Give your file a clear, descriptive name before uploading it. This makes it easier to identify in your File Library and in file selection dropdowns.
For example, 2026-wedding-pricing-guide.pdf is easier to recognize than document.pdf or final-version-2.pdf.
Check that the file uses a supported format and is within your account’s upload limit.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click FILES in the left-side menu.
This opens the Files area, where you can manage uploaded content in your account.
Click DOCUMENTS at the top of the page.
This opens the area where you can upload and manage documents and other supported files.
Drag your file into the upload area, or click the upload area to browse your computer and select the file.
Wait for the upload to finish. Upload time depends on the file size and your internet connection.
Locate your uploaded file in the File Library. You will see its file name, file type, and direct URL.
To use the direct URL, right-click the URL and copy the link address. Open the copied URL in a new browser tab to confirm that it loads the correct file.
You can paste this URL into a client email, a text link, or another area that accepts a web address. If you want to select the file through PhotoBiz’s Link Picker, continue to the next step.
Open the settings for the button, image, navigation link, or other supported element you want to connect to your file.
Under LINK TO, select FILE. Then use CHOOSE A FILE to select the document you uploaded.
For a button, enter clear button text such as “Download Pricing Guide” or “Download Form” so visitors know what they will receive.
The Link Picker’s location depends on the element you are editing. For supported locations and complete linking instructions, see How to Use the Link Picker in PhotoBiz.
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply the link.
Preview or open the completed content and click the linked button, image, or text to confirm that it provides access to the correct file. If you added the link to an email marketing campaign, send yourself a test email and check the link before sending the campaign to your contacts.
Your file is now uploaded and connected to the content you selected.
When you connect an element using LINK TO → FILE, clicking that element downloads the selected document to the visitor’s device.
When you share the document’s direct URL, the file may open in the browser or download, depending on its file type and the visitor’s browser settings. PDFs and images often open in the browser.
For forms and digital products, access depends on the settings you configure in those tools. Follow the linked guides above to set up file delivery after a form submission or purchase.
Use Descriptive Links
Choose button or link text that explains the file’s purpose. “Download Wedding Pricing Guide” gives visitors more information than “Click Here.”
A Button Block works well when you want a download to stand out. A text link works well when you want to reference a file within a paragraph.
Update Links When You Upload a New Version
Uploading a new version of a document does not automatically update links connected to the previous file.
Upload the updated document, then select it under CHOOSE A FILE or replace the old direct URL wherever you linked it. Save your changes and test each updated link.
Use ZIP Files for Multiple Files
If you want visitors to receive several files through one link, combine them into a ZIP file before uploading.
The ZIP file must still be within your account’s upload limit.
My file will not upload
Confirm that the file uses a supported format and is within your account’s upload limit.
If the format is not supported, try placing the file inside a ZIP file and uploading the ZIP instead. If the file is too large, reduce its size or review the Original Files upgrade.
I cannot find my file under CHOOSE A FILE
Confirm that you uploaded the document under FILES → DOCUMENTS and that the upload finished.
Check the file name in your File Library so you know which name to look for in the dropdown.
The file opens instead of downloading
If you linked using the document’s direct URL, some file types may open in the browser instead of downloading automatically. This depends on the browser and file type.
In supported areas, use LINK TO → FILE to connect the element to the document through the Link Picker.
The direct URL does not work
Copy the complete link address from the Documents area and open it in a new browser tab.
If the URL works directly but does not work from your website or email, check that you pasted the complete URL into the link field and saved your changes.
Visitors are still receiving the old file
Check the destination of the affected link. Uploading a new document does not change links connected to an earlier upload.
Select the updated document under CHOOSE A FILE, or replace the previous direct URL with the new one. Save your changes and test the link again.
