Overview
You can change the domain name connected to your PhotoBiz website by submitting a request to the PhotoBiz Support Team. This is helpful if you have rebranded your business, purchased a new domain, or want your website to use a different web address.
This guide explains how to request a domain name change from your PhotoBiz control panel. It also includes a checklist of important items to review after your domain has been updated.
Before you submit your request, make sure your new domain name has already been registered.
Your new domain may be registered through PhotoBiz or through a third-party domain provider. If the domain is registered through a third party, a PhotoBiz domain specialist will provide the DNS settings you need to apply with your domain provider.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click the black and white question mark icon in the bottom-right corner of your control panel.
This opens the PhotoBiz Assistant, where you can search for help, contact support, or create a support ticket.
Scroll down in the PhotoBiz Assistant and choose the option to create a support ticket.
For the ticket details, select Account as the product or section. For the subject, choose Domain & Email. In the description field, include the domain name you want your PhotoBiz website changed to.
Click Send to submit your request.
After your support ticket is submitted, the PhotoBiz Support Team will review your request and follow up with the next steps. If your new domain is registered outside of PhotoBiz, our team will provide the DNS settings needed to connect the domain to your PhotoBiz website.
Changing your domain name updates the web address visitors use to access your website. Your new domain must be valid and registered before it can be connected to your PhotoBiz website.
If your domain is registered through PhotoBiz, our team can review the domain and help process the update. If your domain is registered with another provider, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Squarespace, or another registrar, you may need to update the domain’s DNS settings with that provider.
DNS changes may take time to fully update across the internet. This process is often called DNS propagation. During this time, some visitors may see the new domain working before others.
After your new domain is connected to your PhotoBiz website, review the areas below to make sure your website, forms, email, and outside services continue working as expected.
Reconnect Google reCAPTCHA
If your forms use Google reCAPTCHA, reconnect reCAPTCHA for the new domain. This helps make sure your forms continue accepting submissions and remain protected from spam.
Update Your Branding
Click Branding in the left-side menu of your PhotoBiz control panel and review your company information.
Update any website address, business details, or contact information that still references your previous domain.
Update Google Services
If you use Google Search Console or Google Analytics, update your Google tools after the domain change.
You may need to:
Add and verify the new domain in Google Search Console
Submit the sitemap for the new domain in Google Search Console
Update your website URL in Google Analytics
Review any Google tools connected to the old domain
This helps Google recognize the new website address and continue tracking your website data correctly.
Update External Links
Update your domain anywhere your website address appears outside of PhotoBiz.
Common places to check include:
Social media profiles
Email signatures
Business cards
Online directories
Blog posts
Vendor listings
Client resource pages
Advertising profiles
Printed marketing materials
Updating these links helps clients find your website at the correct address.
Review Email Settings
If you use a custom domain email address, such as info@yourdomain.com, your email settings may need to be updated after the domain change.
Depending on your setup, you may need to create a new mailbox, update existing mailbox settings, or adjust DNS records for your email provider.
If you use PhotoBiz Mailbox, contact the PhotoBiz Support Team for help reviewing your mailbox options. If you use a third-party email provider, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, you may need to update your email DNS records with your domain provider.
Check Internal Website Links
Review links on your website after the domain change.
This is especially important if you added links using the full website address instead of linking directly to pages within your PhotoBiz control panel.
Check common areas such as:
Navigation links
Buttons
Text links
Footer links
Blog links
Form confirmation messages
Client resource pages
If a link still uses your old domain, update it to use your new domain.
Review Third-Party Tools
If you use third-party tools on your website, update or re-verify your domain with those services.
Examples may include:
Facebook Pixel
Meta Business tools
Google tools
Email marketing platforms
Scheduling tools
Embedded widgets
Tracking scripts
Verification services
Some third-party tools may stop tracking or displaying correctly until the new domain is verified.
Announce the Domain Change
Let your clients and audience know that your website address has changed.
You can announce the update through an email campaign, blog post, social media post, or client newsletter. A simple message works well:
“We’ve updated our website address. You can now find us at [yournewdomain.com].”
This helps returning visitors find your website and reduces confusion if they have your old domain saved.
