Overview
If you already have an image gallery page on your PhotoBiz website, you can improve it for search engines and website visitors by adding helpful written content, clear page titles, image alt text, and custom SEO settings.
Image-only gallery pages can be beautiful, but search engines need text and page structure to better understand what the page is about. Optimizing your gallery helps Google understand the type of photography you offer, the location you serve, and the clients you want to reach.
This guide walks you through how to review an existing gallery page, improve the content on the page, update your SEO settings, and submit your updated sitemap to Google.
Before you begin, make sure you have:
Google Search Console is not required to update your gallery page SEO, but it can help Google discover your updated page faster.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
Locate the gallery page you want to improve in your list of website pages. Click the page name to open it in the Website Builder.
Once the page loads, click the Images Block that contains your gallery photos. This allows you to review and update the images currently displayed on that page.
Review the images currently displayed in your gallery.
Aim to show a strong, curated selection of your best work. Most gallery pages perform best with approximately 30 to 50 images. This keeps the page visually engaging without adding too many images to load at once.
If your gallery contains too many images, remove duplicates, outdated photos, or work that no longer reflects your current style. Your gallery should show the quality and type of work you currently want to book.
If your gallery contains a large number of images, consider enabling the Load More option so images load in batches instead of all at once. This can help improve page speed and create a better experience for visitors, especially on mobile devices.
When possible, add alt text to your images. Alt text is a short written description of what appears in an image. It helps search engines better understand your images and improves accessibility for visitors using screen readers.
You can use Ask PhotoBiz AI to help write alt text. Ask PhotoBiz AI can scan the image and suggest alt text based on the image content. Review the suggested alt text before saving to make sure it accurately describes the image and fits the page.
Good alt text should sound natural and describe the image clearly. Avoid using the same keyword phrase on every image.
Add or update the title at the top of your gallery page.
Every gallery page should have a clear title that explains what the gallery contains. Add or update a Title Block at the top of your page. The text inside the Title Block automatically becomes the page’s H1 tag, which is the most important heading on the page for search engines.
Your title should describe the type of photography featured in the gallery and, when helpful, include the location you serve.
Example:
Senior Photography in Asheville, NC
Use only one main H1 title per page. This keeps the page structure clear for search engines and visitors.
Write or update the written description on your gallery page.
Image gallery pages should include helpful written content that explains the type of photography featured on the page. Below your title, add a Text Editor Block with a description of your services.
Aim for 300 to 500 words of natural, helpful content. Write for your potential clients first. Search engines favor content that is clear, useful, and written for real people.
Your page description can include:
Example:
Jane Doe Photography specializes in modern senior portraits in Charlotte, North Carolina and surrounding areas. Senior sessions are designed to highlight each student’s personality and interests, whether they are athletes, musicians, artists, or scholars. Sessions can take place in studio or at outdoor locations throughout the area. The goal is to create meaningful portraits that celebrate this exciting milestone while providing families with beautiful images to share and display.
Use your photography service and location naturally throughout the page. Avoid repeating the same keyword phrase too many times. Your content should sound helpful and conversational, not forced.
If you need help writing content for your gallery page, you can use the Ask PhotoBiz AI writing assistant inside your dashboard.

Add a call to action near the bottom of your gallery page.
A gallery page should guide visitors toward the next step instead of leaving them with nowhere to go after viewing your images.
Consider adding a Form Block, Button Block, or Text Editor Block near the bottom of the page. These blocks can help visitors contact you, view pricing, request information, or continue browsing related pages on your website.
Examples of effective button text include:
Use clear button or link text instead of generic phrases like “Click Here.” Clear link text helps visitors understand where they are going and helps search engines better understand how your pages are connected.
Check and customize your SEO settings.
In addition to the content visitors can see on your page, PhotoBiz allows you to customize behind-the-scenes SEO settings that help search engines understand your page.
In the Website Builder, click the SEO button in the page toolbar.
You can switch from Auto SEO to Custom SEO to manually adjust your settings.
Update the following fields:
Example SEO Page Title:
Senior Photos in Asheville NC | Jane Doe Photography
Each page on your website should have unique SEO information. Avoid copying the same SEO Page Title or Meta Description from other pages.
You can also use Ask PhotoBiz AI to help write SEO titles, meta descriptions, page content, and image alt text. Always review AI-generated content before saving to make sure it is accurate and matches your business.

Save your changes and submit your sitemap to Google if you want to request faster review.
After saving your changes, PhotoBiz automatically updates your website sitemap. This allows search engines to discover new or updated pages on your site.
If you want Google to review your updated gallery page more quickly, you can submit your sitemap through Google Search Console.
Log into Google Search Console and select your website property. In the Sitemaps section, enter your sitemap URL.
Example:
yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml
Click Submit to request indexing.
After completing these updates, your gallery page should include a clear title, helpful written content, curated images, image alt text when available, a clear next step for visitors, and unique SEO settings. These updates give search engines more context and give potential clients a better path toward contacting or booking you.
A strong SEO-friendly gallery page usually includes:
This layout gives visitors helpful context before or after viewing your images and gives search engines more information about the page.
For best results, each gallery page should focus on one main photography service, subject, or location. A page about senior portraits should mostly feature senior portraits. A page about wedding photography should mostly feature weddings.
Avoid mixing too many unrelated services on one gallery page. This can make it harder for search engines to understand what the page is about.
Strong gallery page topics include:
If you offer several services, consider creating separate gallery pages for each one. Then link those pages together where helpful.
These small improvements can make a meaningful difference in how easily potential clients understand your services and move through your website.
SEO updates are not instant. After you update your gallery page, it may take time for Google to crawl the page, review the changes, and adjust how the page appears in search results.
Submitting your sitemap can help Google discover updates, but it does not guarantee immediate ranking changes or a specific position in search results.
