Overview
A QR code allows clients to open a web page by scanning an image with their phone camera. You can use a QR code to share your website, Client Galleries, booking pages, contact forms, blog posts, landing pages, and other online content.
The free PhotoBiz QR Code Generator allows you to create and download a QR code without installing additional software or logging in to a PhotoBiz account. This guide explains how to enter your link, generate your QR code, download it to your device, and test it before sharing or printing it.
Open your web browser and go to the PhotoBiz QR Code Generator.
The QR Code Generator will open in your browser. You do not need to log in to a PhotoBiz account to use this tool.
Copy the complete web address for the page you want clients to visit. Paste or type the address into the link field on the QR Code Generator page.
Make sure you enter the full URL, including https://. You can link to your homepage, a Client Gallery event, a booking page, a contact form, a blog post, a landing page, or another valid web address.
Before continuing, review the address carefully to make sure it does not contain missing characters, extra spaces, or typing errors.
Click GENERATE QR CODE after entering your link.
The QR code will appear on the page. The generated code is connected to the exact web address you entered. If the address is incorrect, enter the correct URL and generate a new QR code.
Click DOWNLOAD QR CODE to save the QR code image to your device.
The file will download according to your browser settings. Depending on your browser, it may be saved automatically to your Downloads folder or you may be prompted to select where you want to save it.
After downloading the file, scan the QR code with your phone camera. Tap the link that appears and confirm that it opens the correct page. Clients can typically scan the code with their phone camera without installing a separate QR code scanning app.
Your QR code is ready to use when it scans successfully and opens the intended page.
PhotoBiz includes built-in QR codes for several types of content in your account. When a built-in QR code is available, you can access it through the content’s Share settings instead of creating a separate code with the PhotoBiz QR Code Generator.
Use the following guides for instructions:
Use the free PhotoBiz QR Code Generator when you need a QR code for a website page, booking page, landing page, external website, or another valid URL that does not already include a built-in QR code.
You can add your downloaded QR code to:
Add a short call to action near the QR code so clients know what will happen when they scan it. For example, you might use Scan to View Your Gallery, Scan to Book a Session, or Scan to Contact Us.
Keep enough blank space around the QR code so nearby text, images, or design elements do not interfere with scanning. Do not crop, stretch, distort, blur, or cover any part of the code.
When using the QR code on printed materials, print a test copy at the size you plan to use. Scan the printed version from a normal viewing distance before ordering a large quantity of business cards, brochures, signs, or other materials.
The QR code will continue working as long as the web address you entered remains active.
A QR code may stop taking clients to the intended content if you:
If the destination address changes, return to the PhotoBiz QR Code Generator and create a new QR code using the updated URL. Replace the previous QR code anywhere you have shared or printed it.
The QR Code Opens the Wrong Page
Return to the PhotoBiz QR Code Generator and check the web address you entered. Make sure the URL is complete and does not contain a typing error. Generate and download a new QR code using the correct address.
The QR Code Is Difficult to Scan
Make sure the entire QR code is visible and has not been cropped, stretched, blurred, or covered by another design element. Increase its size and add more blank space around it if needed.
Reflective materials, low contrast, or busy backgrounds may also make a printed QR code more difficult to scan. Test the QR code on a printed proof before completing your project.
You Cannot Find the Downloaded QR Code
Check your browser’s downloads list or your device’s Downloads folder. The exact file location depends on your browser and download settings.
Your browser may also display a download icon near the address bar or at the top of the browser window. Select that icon to view your recent downloads.
The QR Code Previously Worked but No Longer Opens
Open the destination web address directly in your browser. If the page has been deleted, moved, disabled, or expired, the QR code can no longer open the intended content.
Restore the original page when possible or create a new QR code for the current web address.
Can I Use the QR Code on Printed Materials?
Yes. You can add the downloaded QR code to business cards, signs, flyers, welcome guides, packaging, brochures, and other printed materials.
Always test a printed copy before placing a large order. This confirms that the QR code is large enough, clear enough, and positioned correctly for clients to scan.
Do Clients Need a QR Code App?
Most clients can scan the QR code using the standard camera app on their phone. They can point the camera at the QR code and tap the link that appears on their screen.
