How to Create a QR Code for Sharing a Blog Post in PhotoBiz

Overview

The PhotoBiz Blog includes a built-in sharing tool that allows you to create a QR code for any published blog post. When someone scans the QR code, it opens the public URL for that blog post on your website.

This is helpful when you want to promote a blog post on printed materials, studio displays, event signage, postcards, flyers, brochures, or other marketing pieces. In this guide, you will learn how to find, scan, and download the QR code for a published blog post in your PhotoBiz Blog dashboard.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure your blog post is published. Draft blog posts cannot be shared using the blog post sharing tools.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click BLOG in the left-side menu.

This opens your Blog dashboard, where you can view, create, edit, and manage your blog posts.

STEP TWO

Open the published blog post you want to create a QR code for.

Click the name of the blog post from your list of posts. If you have many blog posts, you can use the search bar to locate the post by name.

Before continuing, make sure the blog post is published and ready to share. The QR code will open the public version of this blog post when scanned.

STEP THREE

Click the Share button toward the top right of the Blog post builder.

The sharing panel will open on the right side of your screen. This panel includes options for sharing your published blog post by email, email campaign, public link, social media, and QR code.

FINAL STEP

Click the Share section of the sharing panel to view the QR code for your blog post.

You can scan the QR code directly from your dashboard or download it to use outside your PhotoBiz account. When someone scans the QR code, it will open the published blog post URL.

After downloading the QR code, you can add it to printed materials, studio displays, event signage, postcards, flyers, brochures, or other marketing pieces.

Additional Options and Helpful Notes

The QR code links to the public URL for your published blog post.

You can also copy the blog post URL from the Share section if you want to share the post through text, email, social media, or another marketing platform.

The QR code can be scanned from your dashboard or downloaded for use in printed and digital marketing materials.

You can update the content of the blog post after downloading the QR code. Changes to the blog post content will not affect the QR code because the QR code points to the blog post URL.

Do not change the blog post title after downloading and sharing the QR code unless you plan to update your QR code or create a 301 redirect. The blog post title controls the blog post URL. If you change the title, the URL changes and PhotoBiz generates a new QR code for the updated URL.

If the blog post title is changed after the original QR code has already been shared, the original QR code may lead to a 404 Page Not Found error. To avoid this, you can create a 301 redirect from the old blog post URL to the new blog post URL.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Why do I not see the Share button?

Make sure your blog post is published. Draft blog posts cannot be shared using the published blog post sharing tools.

What happens when someone scans the QR code?

The QR code opens the public URL for your published blog post on your website.

Can I use the QR code on printed marketing materials?

Yes. You can download the QR code and add it to printed materials such as postcards, flyers, studio signs, event displays, brochures, or client handouts.

Can I edit my blog post after downloading the QR code?

Yes. You can update the content of the blog post after downloading the QR code. The QR code will still work as long as the blog post URL does not change.

Can I change the blog post title after downloading the QR code?

Changing the blog post title changes the blog post URL. Since the QR code points to the blog post URL, changing the title generates a new QR code.

If you already shared the original QR code, the original QR code may open a 404 Page Not Found error unless you create a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new URL.

What should I do if I already changed the blog post title?

Create a 301 redirect from the old blog post URL to the new blog post URL. This allows visitors who scan the original QR code to be redirected to the updated blog post URL.

Can I share the blog post without using the QR code?

Yes. You can also copy the public blog post URL from the Share section and paste it wherever you want to promote the post.
