Overview
The PhotoBiz Form & Contract Builder allows you to create custom forms, questionnaires, order forms, and contracts for your clients. When you need clients to choose from a list of options, you can use either a Radio Select field or a Checkbox field.
Use Radio Select when the client should choose only one answer. Use Checkbox when the client can choose more than one answer.
This guide explains the difference between Radio Select and Checkboxes and shows you how to add either field type to your form.
Best for: One choice from a group of options.
Client can select: One option.
Best for: Multiple choices from a group of options.
Client can select: One or more options.
Radio Select fields, often called radio buttons, are best when your client should choose only one option from a list. After a client selects one option, any other option in that same group is automatically deselected.
Radio Select fields are commonly used for:
Radio Select helps prevent clients from choosing more than one answer when only one response should apply.
Checkbox fields are best when your client can choose more than one option from a list. Clients can check as many boxes as apply.
Checkbox fields are commonly used for:
Checkboxes are helpful when you want to give clients flexibility to select more than one response.
Before you begin, make sure you have:
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click FORMS in the left-side menu.
This opens your Forms Dashboard, where you can view and manage your forms and contracts.
At the top center of your Forms Dashboard, click FORM EDITOR to access the Form & Contract Builder.
Click the FORM NAME you want to edit. This opens the form editor so you can customize your fields.
If you have multiple pages or categories of forms, use the search bar to find the form you want to update.
In the Add Standard Field section, choose either Radio Select or Checkbox depending on how many selections you want your client to make.
Choose Radio Select if your client should only select one option. Choose Checkbox if your client should be able to select more than one option.
The new field is added to the bottom of your form. Drag and drop it to place it anywhere within the form layout.
Update the field label and options as needed, then save your changes. Your clients will now see the correct selection type when completing the form.
Use Radio Select when only one answer should be allowed.
Use Checkboxes when multiple answers are acceptable.
Clear field labels help clients understand how many selections they can make. For example, a Radio Select field might say “Choose one session type.” A Checkbox field might say “Select all products you are interested in.”
You can reorder fields at any time by dragging them within the form editor.
If you are building an order form, Radio Select fields are helpful for single-choice package selections. Checkbox fields are helpful for optional add-ons or extra items.
Radio Select and Checkbox fields are used to collect selections from your client. If you are building an order form and need to sell different quantities of an item, create separate priced options such as “1 Print,” “2 Prints,” or “3 Prints” so the form can calculate the correct total.
Why can my client only choose one option?
The field may be set up as a Radio Select field. Radio Select only allows one answer within the same group. If clients should be able to choose more than one option, use a Checkbox field instead.
Why can my client choose multiple options?
The field may be set up as a Checkbox field. Checkboxes allow multiple selections. If clients should only choose one option, use a Radio Select field instead.
Can I change the options after adding the field?
Yes. You can edit the field label and options from the form editor. After making changes, save the form so your updates apply.
