How To Add A Tagline In The Footer

Taglines are used to display small pieces of information, such as your copyright, links to your important webpages, or contact information. Multiple taglines are separated by vertical bars.

How to Add and Customize Footer Taglines in PhotoBiz

Overview

Taglines let you display short, useful pieces of information in your website footer, such as a copyright notice, important page links, or contact details. Each tagline can display plain text or link to a destination or action. When you add multiple taglines, your template separates them with spacing or vertical lines. This guide explains how to add, edit, reorder, and customize your footer taglines.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

STEP TWO

Click FOOTER at the bottom of the Website Builder’s left-side panel.

STEP THREE

You can drag TAGLINES into your footer or click it in the right-side block menu to add a Tagline Block.

If you want to update an existing Tagline Block, click that tagline block to open its editing options.

STEP FOUR

In the ITEMS tab, click NEW TAGLINE.

STEP FIVE

Enter your text in LABEL. This is the text visitors will see in your footer. For example, enter “© 2026 Your Business Name,” “Privacy Policy,” or your business phone number.

Under LINK TO, select what happens when visitors click the tagline. Select NONE for plain text, or select a link type and complete the additional fields.

For details about each link type and its settings, see How to Use the Link Picker in PhotoBiz.

STEP SIX

Click CREATE ITEM to add the tagline.

Repeat the process for each additional tagline. Create separate items for text that needs its own link, such as “Privacy Policy” and “Terms of Service.” Your template adds the spacing or vertical separators automatically.

Common Footer Tagline Examples

You can use separate tagline items to create footer arrangements such as:

  • © 2026 Your Business Name

  • © 2026 Your Business Name | Privacy Policy | Terms of Service

  • Call Us: 555-555-5555 | Greensboro, NC

  • Contact Us | Follow Us on Instagram

The vertical bars in these examples represent separators added by your template. You do not need to type them between separate tagline items.

Managing Existing Taglines

Edit a Tagline

Open the Tagline Block and click ITEMS. Click the label of the tagline you want to edit, then update its text or link settings and save your changes.

Reorder Taglines

In ITEMS, drag and drop the taglines into the order you want visitors to see in your footer.

Delete Individual Taglines

In ITEMS, select the checkbox beside each tagline you want to remove, then click DELETE. This lets you remove selected items while keeping the Tagline Block. Deleted tagline items cannot be recovered. To restore one, you must add it again manually.

Styling

Click STYLING to adjust the block’s spacing. These settings override the corresponding global styling settings under DESIGN.

  • SPACE BELOW BLOCKS: Controls the space below the Tagline Block before the next block begins.

  • SPACE INSIDE BLOCKS: Controls the space at the top and bottom inside the Tagline Block.

For each setting, select NONE, ULTRA THIN, THIN, MEDIUM, or THICK. Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your selections.

Colors

Click COLORS to customize the colors for this Tagline Block.

  • TEXT COLOR: Controls the tagline text color and overrides the global FOOTER CONTENT TEXT setting.

  • BACKGROUND COLOR: Controls the block’s background color and overrides the global FOOTER BACKGROUND setting.

These overrides apply only to this Tagline Block. Other footer blocks continue using their existing color settings.

Use the color swatches or enter a hex color code in each field. Choose contrasting text and background colors so your taglines are easy to read. Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your selections.

Background

Click BACKGROUND to customize the background image behind your Tagline Block.

Under BACKGROUND IMAGE, select one of these options:

  • NO BACKGROUND: Display the block without a background image, using its configured background color.

  • CUSTOM BACKGROUND: Upload your own JPG or PNG image.

  • BACKGROUND LIBRARY: Choose an image from PhotoBiz’s background collection.

Use BACKGROUND SETTINGS to select how the image displays: TILE, TOP LEFT, CENTERED, or COVER. Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your settings.

For complete instructions, see How to Change a Block Background in PhotoBiz.

Fonts

Click FONTS to customize the TEXT used in your Tagline Block. You can change the font, size, letter spacing, and line height. These settings override the corresponding global font settings under DESIGN for this block.

For complete instructions on choosing fonts, adjusting text properties, and resetting customizations, see How to Customize Fonts in Individual Blocks on Your PhotoBiz Website.

Deleting an Entire Tagline Block

Open the Tagline Block’s Manage menu using the pencil icon at the top-right of the block, then click DELETE.

The DELETE BLOCK panel asks you to confirm. Deleting the block permanently removes it and all taglines within it. This action cannot be undone.

Click YES, DELETE IT to remove the block, or click CANCEL to keep it.

FINAL STEP

After saving your changes, click VIEW SITE to review your footer.

Check that the taglines appear in the correct order and that each link opens the intended destination. Review your footer on both desktop and mobile to make sure the text and spacing are easy to read. Saved changes apply to your website without a separate publishing step.

What Your Visitors See

Visitors see your taglines in the footer on pages where the footer is enabled. Multiple tagline items appear separated by spacing or vertical lines, depending on your template.

Taglines set to NONE display as plain text. Linked taglines open the destination or start the action you configured. Phone and email actions depend on the apps and settings available on the visitor’s device.

Troubleshooting Footer Taglines

If your taglines are not appearing or are difficult to read:

  • Confirm that the Tagline Block is included in your footer.

  • Check that the tagline has text entered in LABEL.

  • Verify that the footer is enabled in the settings for the page you are viewing.

  • Check TEXT COLOR and BACKGROUND COLOR to make sure the text contrasts with its background.

  • Review any background image to make sure it does not make the text difficult to read.

If a tagline opens the wrong destination, edit the item and review its LINK TO settings.
