How To Modify Your Website Fonts

This video tutorial will walk you through the steps of modifying the fonts you're using on your PhotoBiz website.

How to Customize Fonts on Your PhotoBiz Website

Overview

PhotoBiz allows you to customize the fonts used throughout your website from your global DESIGN settings. You can choose different fonts for your navigation, titles, headings, paragraphs, buttons, and other supported website content.

You can also adjust font size, letter spacing, and line height to fine-tune your website typography. Global font settings apply to both desktop and mobile, so you do not need to configure separate mobile font settings.

This guide walks you through changing your global fonts, adjusting typography settings, and understanding which areas of your website each font controls.

If you want to customize fonts on an individual Website Builder block instead, see How to Customize Fonts in Individual Block

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu. This opens your Website Builder control panel.

STEP TWO

Click DESIGN at the top of your Website control panel.

STEP THREE

Click EDIT DESIGN SETTINGS to open your website's global design options.

STEP FOUR

Click FONTS in the right-side Design Settings menu.

This opens your website's global font settings, where you can customize the fonts used for your navigation, titles, headings, paragraphs, buttons, and other supported content.

STEP FIVE

Find the global font area you want to customize. Each section in the FONTS panel shows the font currently assigned to that area of your website.

Hover over the font you want to change and click the pencil icon. This opens the PhotoBiz font bank so you can choose a different font for that section.

STEP SIX

The PhotoBiz font bank displays your CURRENT FONT at the top of the panel. Use the FILTER BY options to browse available fonts, including Recently Used, MY FONTS, ALL, SERIF, SANS-SERIF, MONOSPACE, SCRIPT, and HANDWRITTEN.

Each font includes a sample preview so you can compare styles before making a selection. When you find the font you want to use, hover over it and click SAVE to assign it to the selected global font area.

STEP SEVEN

To customize FONT SIZE, LETTER SPACING, or LINE HEIGHT, hover over the setting you want to change and click the pencil icon that appears.

Use the adjustment control to decrease or increase the setting. The preview updates as you make changes so you can see how the text will look before saving.

FINAL STEP

When you are finished customizing your fonts, click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the panel.

Your saved settings automatically apply to your website. There is no separate publish step. Review your website on both desktop and mobile to make sure your font choices, sizes, and spacing work well with your content.

Global Font Areas You Can Customize

The FONTS section allows you to control typography for different areas of your website. You can customize each area independently to create visual hierarchy while keeping your website design consistent.

Menu

  • Menu Item: Controls the font used for your website navigation.

Titles

  • Title Block: Controls the font used in Title Blocks.
  • Text + Image / Editor / Maps Title: Controls titles used in Text + Image Blocks, Text Editor Blocks, Blog Posts, and Maps Blocks.

Global Content

  • Paragraph: Controls body text in supported text editors, descriptions, and detail pages.
  • Heading H1: Controls primary H1 heading text in supported text editors.
  • Heading H2: Controls secondary H2 heading text in supported text editors.
  • Heading H3: Controls H3 heading text in supported text editors.
  • Banner / Video Title: Controls titles used in Banner Blocks and Video Blocks.
  • Detail Page Title: Controls titles on Blog, Products, Services, and Scheduler detail pages.
  • Item Title: Controls item titles in supported Images, List, Blog, Products, Services, Scheduler, Client Galleries, Maps, and FAQ Blocks.
  • Button Text: Controls button text across supported blocks and detail pages.

If you want to use H1, H2, and H3 headings within supported text areas, see How to Add H1, H2, and H3 Header Tags to Your PhotoBiz Website.

Choosing Fonts From the PhotoBiz Font Bank

The PhotoBiz font bank includes several filters to help you find the font you want:

  • Recently Used: Shows fonts you have selected recently.
  • MY FONTS: Shows the fonts currently selected in your website's global DESIGN settings.
  • ALL: Displays all available fonts.
  • SERIF: Displays serif fonts.
  • SANS-SERIF: Displays sans-serif fonts.
  • MONOSPACE: Displays monospace fonts.
  • SCRIPT: Displays script-style fonts.
  • HANDWRITTEN: Displays handwritten-style fonts.

Each font includes sample text so you can compare styles before making a selection.

Font Size, Letter Spacing, and Line Height

In addition to changing the font itself, you can fine-tune supported font areas using additional typography controls.

  • FONT SIZE: Controls how large or small the text appears relative to the default size for your website design. For example, 80% makes the text smaller, while 120% makes it larger.
  • LETTER SPACING: Controls the horizontal space between characters. Negative values move characters closer together, while positive values add more space.
  • LINE HEIGHT: Controls the vertical spacing between lines of text.

LINE HEIGHT does not apply to Menu fonts.

Hover over the setting you want to adjust and click the pencil icon. Use the adjustment control to increase or decrease the value while watching the preview update.

Desktop and Mobile Font Settings

Your global font settings apply to both desktop and mobile versions of your PhotoBiz website. There are no separate mobile font settings to configure.

Fonts available through PhotoBiz are licensed through Google Fonts and are mobile-friendly. You should still review your website on desktop and mobile after changing fonts, sizing, or spacing to make sure your typography works well with your content at different screen sizes.

Global Fonts vs. Individual Block Fonts

The settings under DESIGN → EDIT DESIGN SETTINGS → FONTS act as the global font settings for your website.

Individual Website Builder blocks can also have their own font customizations. When you customize a font or typography setting directly inside a block, that block-level setting overrides the corresponding global setting.

If you change a global font and a specific block does not update, open that block and check its FONTS settings for a block-level customization.

See How to Customize Fonts in Individual Blocks for instructions on changing fonts for a specific block.

Tips for Choosing Website Fonts

  • Use two or three complementary font styles to keep your website design consistent.
  • Pair a distinctive heading font with an easy-to-read paragraph font.
  • Use script, handwritten, or highly decorative fonts primarily for short titles or accents.
  • Avoid decorative fonts for long paragraphs or important information.
  • Keep heading styles consistent so visitors can easily scan your pages.
  • Review your typography on both desktop and mobile after making changes.
