A Title Block brings attention to specific areas on a page and can help you section your content.

How to Use Title Blocks in PhotoBiz

Overview

Title Blocks let you add prominent headings to pages in the PhotoBiz Website Builder. You can use a Title Block for the primary heading of a page or anywhere you want a title to stand out visually.

This guide explains how to add and customize a Title Block, work with its available settings, rename it for easier identification and anchor links, and manage or delete an existing Title Block. You will also learn how Title Blocks affect your website's heading structure and SEO.

Important SEO Note

Text entered into a Title Block automatically uses an H1 heading tag.

For a clear page structure and SEO best practices, we recommend using one primary H1 heading per page. If you need additional headings for sections on the same page, use a Text Editor Block and apply an H2 or H3 heading style.

For example, a wedding photographer might use Greensboro Wedding Photography as the Title Block on a wedding photography page. Sections such as Engagement Sessions, Wedding Albums, and Featured Galleries can use H2 or H3 headings inside Text Editor Blocks.

STEP ONE

This opens the Website Builder, where you can select and edit the pages on your website.

STEP TWO

The SELECT TITLE BLOCK panel opens on the right side of the Website Builder.

The SELECT TITLE BLOCK panel will open on the right side of the Website Builder.

Choose from the Blank Title Block or one of the predesigned options, Title 1 through Title 9. The Blank option uses your website's global design settings, while the predesigned options provide a styled starting point that you can customize after adding the block.

Scroll through the panel to view all available designs, then click SELECT under the Title Block you want to use.

FINAL STEP

After you select a design, the EDIT TITLE panel opens on the right side of the Website Builder.

If you selected Blank, enter your heading in the empty TITLE field. If you selected Title 1 through Title 9, the field contains the sample text shown in the design preview. Replace that sample text with the title you want visitors to see.

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your title to the website.

Your Title Block will now display on the page using the design and text you selected. The title text automatically uses an H1 heading tag.

Title Block Designs

When you first add a Title Block, you can choose Blank or one of the predesigned Title 1 through Title 9 options.

Blank uses your website's existing global design settings. The predesigned options provide different combinations of fonts, colors, spacing, backgrounds, and styling that you can use as a starting point.

Unlike many other Website Builder blocks, Title Blocks do not support CHANGE LAYOUT after they have been added. You can still customize an existing Title Block using its Styling, Colors, Background, and Fonts settings.

If you want to use a different predesigned Title Block, add a new Title Block and select the design you want.

Customize Your Title Block

Click directly on an existing Title Block or click the pencil icon and select ADVANCED to access its content and design settings.

Changes made within an individual Title Block can override your website's global design settings. When a setting has been changed from the global design, you may see a CUSTOMIZED label. Click the X beside a customized setting to remove the override and return that option to your website's global design.

Title

Use the TITLE section to change the heading visitors see on your website.

Enter or edit your text in the TITLE field, then click SAVE CHANGES.

Changing the title text does not change the internal block name used to identify the block in the Website Builder.

Styling

Use the STYLING section to control the positioning and spacing of the Title Block.

Available settings include:

Text alignment
Space below the block
Space inside the block

These settings are helpful when an individual Title Block needs different spacing or alignment from your website's global design.

Click SAVE CHANGES after making your updates.

Colors

The COLORS section lets you customize the Title Block independently from your website's global color settings.

You can adjust:

Title text color
Background color

Use the color selector to choose a color or enter a HEX value when you need to match a specific brand color.

Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished.

Background

Use the BACKGROUND section to add an image behind your title instead of using only a solid background color.

You can upload your own image or select an image from the Background Library.

Depending on the background you select, you can also control how the image displays with options such as:

Tile
Top Left
Centered
Cover

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your background settings.

Fonts

The FONTS section gives you control over the typography used for the title.

Available settings include:

Font
Font size
Letter spacing
Line height

Font changes made here apply to this Title Block instead of changing the font throughout your entire website.

Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished.

Title Block Menu Options

Click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of an existing Title Block to access its block menu.

Copy

Click COPY to create a duplicate of the Title Block, including its title and customized settings.

Remember that the copied Title Block also contains an H1 heading. Review your page heading structure before using multiple Title Blocks on the same page.

Move

Click MOVE to move the Title Block to the top or bottom of the current page or to another page in your Website Builder.

Rename

Click RENAME to change the internal name used to identify the Title Block in the Website Builder.

Renaming the block does not change the heading visitors see on your website. It can also make the block easier to identify when creating an anchor link to a specific section of your website.

Advanced

Click ADVANCED to access the Title Block's available content, Styling, Colors, Background, Fonts, and other customization settings.

Delete

Click DELETE when you want to permanently remove the Title Block from the page.

Rename a Title Block for Anchor Links

You can rename a Title Block to make it easier to identify while editing your website and when creating anchor links to specific sections.

Click the pencil icon on the Title Block, then click RENAME. Enter a descriptive name in the BLOCK NAME field and click SAVE CHANGES.

You can also click the block label in the upper-right corner of the block to access its name. Using the pencil icon and RENAME is the recommended method when you specifically want to rename a block.

The BLOCK NAME is only an internal label. It does not change the visible title on your website.

When you create a link and select a destination page, the renamed block appears under CHOOSE A BLOCK with its custom BLOCK NAME in parentheses. This makes it easier to identify the correct destination when a page contains several blocks.

Delete a Title Block

To permanently remove a Title Block, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the block and click DELETE.

The DELETE BLOCK confirmation will appear. Click YES, DELETE IT to permanently remove the block. Click CANCEL if you do not want to delete it.

Deleted blocks cannot be recovered. Make sure you no longer need the Title Block or its settings before confirming the deletion.

If the block is being used as the destination for an anchor link, review those links after deleting it and select a new destination when needed.

Best Practices for Using Title Blocks

For the clearest website structure, visitor experience, and SEO:

Use a Title Block for the primary heading of a page.
Keep your primary heading concise and descriptive.
Use relevant search terms naturally when they accurately describe the page.
Use Text Editor Blocks with H2 or H3 headings for additional sections.
Avoid adding extra Title Blocks simply to make text larger.
Review copied Title Blocks because each copy creates another H1 heading.
Use block-level customization when one Title Block needs to look different from your global website design.
Make sure the heading accurately describes the content visitors will find on the page.

Helpful Tips

Predesigned Title Blocks include sample text that you should replace with your own heading.
Use short, descriptive block names when renaming Title Blocks.
Renaming a Title Block does not change the visible heading.
Look for the CUSTOMIZED label when a block looks different from your global website design.
Click the X beside a customized setting when you want that option to return to the global design.
Preview your page after making design changes to confirm the title is readable across desktop, tablet, and mobile views.
Title Blocks do not support DuoBuild.

Troubleshooting / FAQs

Why does my Title Block look different from the rest of my website?

The block may be using a predesigned Title Block or customized settings that override your global website design.

Open the block settings and look for options marked CUSTOMIZED. Click the X beside a customized setting if you want that option to return to your website's global design.

Why did sample text appear when I added my Title Block?

The predesigned Title 1 through Title 9 options include sample text.

Open the TITLE section, replace the sample wording with your own heading, and click SAVE CHANGES.

Can I use more than one Title Block on a page?

Yes. However, every Title Block automatically uses an H1 heading tag.

For a cleaner heading hierarchy, we recommend using a Title Block for your primary page heading and Text Editor Blocks with H2 or H3 heading styles for additional sections.

Can I change the Title Block design after I add it?

Title Blocks do not support the CHANGE LAYOUT option available on many other block types.

You can customize the existing Title Block using its Styling, Colors, Background, and Fonts settings. If you want to use a different predesigned Title Block, add a new Title Block and choose the design you want.

Does renaming a Title Block change the heading visitors see?

No. RENAME changes the internal BLOCK NAME used in the Website Builder.

To change the visible heading, edit the text in the TITLE section.

Can I create an anchor link to a Title Block?

Yes. Title Blocks can be selected as the destination for an anchor link.

Renaming the block first can make it easier to identify under CHOOSE A BLOCK, especially when a page contains several blocks.

Why did my title font, spacing, color, or alignment change?

Settings customized within the individual Title Block override the corresponding global website design settings.

Look for settings marked CUSTOMIZED and click the X beside them if you want the block to return to your global design.

Can I use a Title Block with DuoBuild?

No. Title Blocks do not support DuoBuild. DuoBuild is available with specific supported block types that can snap together into a two-column layout.
