How to Change Fonts on a Blog Block

Overview

By default, each Blog Block uses the fonts selected in your website’s Global design settings. You can override these settings for an individual Blog Block without changing the fonts used elsewhere on your website.

The Blog Block font settings control the Title, Description, Date, and Last Item Text displayed on a website page. They do not control the body copy inside an individual blog post. Individual blog post copy uses the font selected for Global Content in your website’s Global design settings.

This guide explains how to change the font face, font size, letter spacing, and line height for an individual Blog Block.

STEP ONE

Select the page containing the Blog Block you want to customize.

Click the Blog Block or select the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the block. Select Advanced to open the block settings in the right-side panel.

STEP THREE

Select Fonts from the right-side panel.

You can customize the font settings for the Title, Description, Date, and Last Item Text. Select the Blog Block text element you want to adjust to view its current font face, font size, letter spacing, and line height settings.

These settings only affect the individual Blog Block you are editing. They do not change the font used for the body copy inside individual blog posts.

STEP FOUR

Your current font face appears in the right-side panel. Hover over the font face and select the pencil icon to open the Font Bank.

A Customized flag appears next to any font section that has been changed from your website’s Global design settings.

The Font Bank displays your current font and the available font options. You can filter the fonts by Global, All Fonts, Serif, Sans Serif, Monospaced, Script, or Handwritten.

The Global filter displays the fonts currently selected in your website’s Global design settings. Each available font face includes a preview showing how the font looks.

Hover over the font face you want to use and select Save to apply it to the selected Blog Block text element.

STEP FIVE

The font size, letter spacing, and line height settings appear below the font face. Select the setting you want to change to open its adjustment panel.

Each setting includes a slider you can use to increase or decrease its value. A style preview appears above the sliders and updates as you make changes. This allows you to review the appearance of the text before applying the new setting.

Font Size can be adjusted from 50% to 300% in 10% increments. Letter Spacing can be adjusted from -0.1em to 1em in 0.1em increments. Line Height can be adjusted from 1 to 3 in 0.1 increments.

Select Save Changes at the bottom of the slider panel to apply the adjustment.

Repeat this process for each Blog Block text element you want to customize.

FINAL STEP

Review the Blog Block on your website page to confirm that the font face, font size, letter spacing, and line height display as expected.

Check the block on both desktop and mobile views to make sure the text remains clear and easy to read.

How Individual Blog Post Fonts Are Controlled

The font settings for a Blog Block do not change the body copy inside individual blog posts.

Individual blog post copy uses the font selected for Global Content in your website’s Global design settings. To change the font used for blog post copy, update the Global Content font instead of the font settings for the Blog Block.

Changing the Global Content font may also affect content text in other areas of your website.

Additional Options and Helpful Notes

Font changes made through these settings apply only to the individual Blog Block you are editing.
The Title, Description, Date, and Last Item Text can each have separate font settings.
Select Save after choosing a font face in the Font Bank.
Select Save Changes after adjusting font size, letter spacing, or line height.
A Customized flag identifies font sections that no longer use the Global design setting.
Large font sizes or wide spacing settings may cause text to wrap differently on smaller screens.
Review your changes on both desktop and mobile before finishing.
