Adding Hover Animations to Your Blog Block

The Blog Block in the PhotoBiz Builder is a great way to showcase your blog posts. With the help of animations, you can make your blog posts come to life and create an engaging, interactive experience for your visitors. This guide will walk you through how to add hover animations to your Blog Block, cover images, and buttons!

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on the WEBSITE option in the left side menu.

STEP TWO

Click the page containing the Blog Block you want to customize.

STEP THREE

Click the BLOG BLOCK to open its settings or click on the pencil icon on the top right corner of the block and click ADVANCED. 

STEP FOUR

In the right-side menu, click the ANIMATION tab.

If your selected layout supports both effects, you’ll see IMAGE HOVER ANIMATION and BUTTON HOVER ANIMATION. Select the effect you want to use for each.

Under IMAGE HOVER ANIMATION, select NONE, SCALE, BLUR, SCALE BLUR, or BOUNCE.

Under BUTTON HOVER ANIMATION, select NONE, FILL, OVERLAY, SCALE, or ARROWS.

Select NONE for either setting if you do not want that hover effect.

These settings override the corresponding global animations for this Blog Block. They do not change your website’s global settings or the animations used by other blocks.

FINAL STEP

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your animation settings.

Open the page on your website in a desktop browser. Place your pointer over a blog post’s cover image or button to review the selected effect.

Your saved changes take effect on your website without a separate publishing step.

What Your Visitors See

Visitors using a mouse or trackpad see the selected hover effect when they place their pointer over a supported cover image or button in this Blog Block.

Phones and tablets may not display the same effect because they use touch controls instead of a pointer.

Helpful Notes

  • Layout matters: Animation settings depend on the Blog Block layout you use.

  • Global settings provide defaults: Use the global image and button animation settings when you want consistent effects throughout your website.

  • Block settings take priority: If a Blog Block does not use the global animation you expected, check its individual animation settings.
