Why Do I Still Need A Verification Code After Trusting My Device?

September 05, 2024 | By: PhotoBiz Knowledge Base

PhotoBiz includes two-factor authentication (2FA) at login to enhance the security of your account and protect your data, including ecommerce, invoicing, client galleries, and email marketing, against unauthorized access. The 2FA code can be sent to you via text message or email. You can limit the number of times your PhotoBiz login will request 2FA credentials on your most frequently used devices. Up to three (3) separate devices can be trusted with your PhotoBiz 2FA.

If you are still required to enter a code each time you log in, even after trusting your device, here are some tips to troubleshoot this.

LEARN MORE: HOW TO TRUST YOUR DEVICE

  • Enable Cookies. The "trust this device" option works by storing a cookie in your browser. If you do not allow cookies in your browser, your verification code will not be saved.

We recommend using the most recent version of Google Chrome for the PhotoBiz control panel.

  • Set up user profiles. If you have multiple people using the same username and password to log in to your Photobiz account, this will prompt new verification codes to be sent when everyone logs in. Instead, you can create user profiles for your additional users. Each user profile has their own email, password, and phone number to receive their own verification code. This avoids the issue of having to share verification codes, and this helps the "trust this device" option to work for everyone.

Check out this guide on how to set up users.
  • Using multiple browsers. Verification codes are saved at the browser level, so using a different browser will prompt a new verification code. For example, if you "trust this device" on Google Chrome, but you log into your account on Safari afterwards, a new code will be sent to trust Safari. You can trust up to three browsers/devices.
