How to Use the Original Files Add-On
The Original Files add-on is a premium upgrade that allows you to upload and store files up to 50MB each. This feature is especially useful for photographers who need to make original-resolution files available for download or who upload large media files to their PhotoBiz account.
Common uses include:
-
Selling original resolution digital image files
-
Hosting larger video files
-
Backing up high-resolution image files
Follow the steps below to understand how Original Files work and how to confirm whether your account is actively using this feature.
STEP ONE
Understand what the Original Files add-on does.
When the Original Files add-on is active on your account, PhotoBiz will store the original resolution of each image you upload (as long as the file is under the 50MB limit). This original version can be downloaded for sales, client access, or internal backup.
If the add-on is not active at the time of upload, PhotoBiz will only store the standard web sized version of your image.
STEP TWO
Confirm that a file has an Original File version available.
After uploading images with the Original Files add-on enabled, your PhotoBiz control panel will display an indicator on each image that includes an original file.
Look for:
-
An “OR” flag at the top-right corner of the image thumbnail in your control panel.
This means the original resolution version of the image is stored and available.
Files uploaded before purchasing the add-on will not display the OR flag.
STEP THREE
Identify Original Files in your Files section.
The Files section of your account allows you to upload Documents, Video, and Music files to your account. If you upload content—such as videos or other file types—into this section, PhotoBiz will show the file size next to each upload.
Any file larger than 4MB is considered an Original File for documents and video.
STEP FOUR
Check whether the Original Files add-on is active on your account.
You can verify your subscription status by going to the MY ACCOUNT section in your PhotoBiz control panel.
The add-on will appear as:
-
$10 monthly, or
-
$120 annually
depending on your membership type.
FINAL STEP
Understand what happens if you cancel the Original Files add-on.
If you cancel the add-on:
-
All existing Original File versions stored on your account will be permanently deleted.
-
These files cannot be recovered, even if you re-enable the add-on later.
-
Standard optimized versions of your images (used for website display) will remain on your account.
To keep original-resolution backups accessible, maintain an active subscription to the add-on.
