How to Sell Individual Digital Downloads in PhotoBiz Client Galleries

Overview

PhotoBiz Client Galleries allow you to sell individual digital image downloads directly to your clients. This guide walks you through how to create digital image options in your ECommerce settings and make them available inside your galleries. You can create multiple digital sizes and assign them to any price list. By the end of this guide, your clients will be able to purchase and download individual images from their gallery.

If you want to sell multiple images together, such as bundles or full galleries, see How to Create Digital Packages.

Important Info About Digital Downloads

Before setting up your digital images, keep the following in mind:

  • Clients receive a download link by email after payment is completed
  • Download links are valid for 7 days by default
  • You can resend or extend download links from the order details at any time
  • Clients cannot download images until the order is marked Paid

Understanding Digital Image Resolution Options

When creating digital images, you can offer different resolutions at different price points. This allows you to control how clients use their images and structure your pricing.

A download link is automatically sent to the client after the order is marked Paid, and the link will be available for 7 days.

You can choose from the following resolution options:

  • Web Resolution
Images will be a maximum of 1500 × 865 pixels at 72 dpi.
Best for social media, sharing, and online use.
  • Web Size – High Resolution
Images will be a maximum of 3000 × 1730 pixels at 72 dpi.
Suitable for larger online use and small prints.
  • Original File Size – Full Resolution (this requires the Original Files Premium Upgrade)
Images use the original uploaded file format and resolution, up to 50MB per file.
Ideal for printing and professional use.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE from the left-hand menu. This opens your ECommerce dashboard where all product settings are managed.

STEP TWO

At the top of the control panel, hover over SELL ONLINE, then click DIGITAL IMAGES from the dropdown menu. This takes you to your Digital Images product area.

STEP THREE

Click the NEW IMAGE button to create a new digital download product. If you have already created digital images, they will appear in this section where you can edit or review them.

STEP FOUR

Use the right-side panel to configure your digital image settings.

Enter a clear name, set your price, choose your resolution option, and adjust your tax and active settings.

Turn the Active option on to make the item available for sale, then click Create Digital Image to save.

FINAL STEP

Your digital image options will now appear in your Digital Images list. Add these items to any price list used in your Client Galleries so clients can purchase them.

Once added to a price list, your digital downloads are ready to use in your galleries.

What Clients Will See Ordering

When digital images are added to a price list, clients will see them inside their Client Gallery.

  • Digital image options appear in the gallery side menu
  • Clients can select and purchase individual images
  • Pricing and resolution options are displayed for each selection

What Clients Will See After Ordering

After a client completes their purchase:

  • They receive a receipt email with a download link
  • The download link becomes active once the order is marked Paid
  • Clients can download their images directly from the email

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

  • Orders paid using offline payment methods such as cash, Venmo, Zelle, or check will remain in a Pending status until you manually update them. Clients will not receive a download link until the order is marked Paid.
  • Once an order is marked Paid, digital images are delivered automatically. The client will receive an email with their download link immediately after the payment status is updated.
  • If you offer retouched images, consider using a different workflow. Instead of selling the digital file upfront, create a print to allow your client to select their image first. After retouching is complete, you can then deliver the final image as a download. This ensures clients receive fully edited images.
