How to Adjust Load More Options in an Images Block

Overview

PhotoBiz Images Blocks give you flexible ways to display photographs in grids, collages, and other visual layouts. When your block contains more images than you want to show initially, you can add a Load More link that reveals additional images without sending visitors to another page.

Supported Images Block layouts allow you to display the Load More link as a Button, Text Only link, or Last Grid Item. You can also customize the link text and the colors used for the Last Grid Item style.

This guide explains how to enable the Load More link and choose how it appears on your website.

Prerequisites

Before getting started, make sure you have:

  • A page created in the PhotoBiz Website Builder
  • An Images Block added to the page
  • Multiple images uploaded to the Images Block
  • A supported Images Block layout selected

Supported Images Block Layouts

The following Images Block layouts include Link Style options for the Load More link:

  • Square
  • Portrait
  • Landscape
  • Editorial Circle
  • Editorial Square
  • Editorial Landscape
  • Editorial Portrait
  • Collage 4
  • Collage 5
  • Collage 6
  • Modern Square
  • Modern Portrait
  • Modern Landscape
  • Editorial Collage 3
  • Editorial Collage 4
  • Gallery Collage 3
  • Gallery Collage 4

The available Last Item settings depend on the layout selected for the block. If you do not see the settings described in this guide, confirm that your Images Block uses one of the supported layouts above.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content blocks.

STEP TWO

Open the page containing the Images Block you want to update. Click directly on the Images Block to open its settings panel.

To select a different layout, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the block and click CHANGE LAYOUT.

STEP THREE

Confirm that the Images Block uses one of the supported layouts listed in this guide.

If you need to select a different layout, click CHANGE LAYOUT and choose the layout you want to use. Changing the layout does not remove the images from the block, but it may change how the images are arranged on the page.

STEP FOUR

Locate the Last Item settings in the Images Block panel. Under Display Last Item Link, select Yes, as a "load more link."

When a visitor clicks the Load More link, another set of images appears directly on the current page. The visitor does not leave the page or open a separate gallery.

The Load More link functions the same way on desktop and mobile devices.

Enter the wording you want visitors to see in the Link Text field.

You can use text such as Load More, View More Images, See More Photos, or Continue Viewing. Use wording that clearly explains that clicking the link will reveal more images.

STEP FIVE

Open the Link Style setting and select Button, Text Only, or Last Grid Item.

Button displays a clickable button beneath the last row of visible images. Text Only displays a simple text link beneath the last row of visible images. Last Grid Item places the link within the final visible position of the image layout.

Select the style that best matches the design and browsing experience you want for the page.

STEP SIX

Click Save to apply your changes to the website.

The Save button automatically updates your website. You do not need to complete a separate publishing step.

FINAL STEP

Visit the page on your website and test the Load More link.

Confirm that the correct Link Text and Link Style appear. Click the link and make sure additional images load within the page.

Your visitors can now reveal more images without leaving the page.

Load More Style Examples

The screenshots below show each Load More style displayed on a website.

Choosing a Link Style

Each Link Style creates a different browsing experience:

  • Button: Creates a prominent call to action that is easy for visitors to notice.
  • Text Only: Provides a clean and minimal link beneath the images.
  • Last Grid Item: Integrates the Load More option directly into the image layout.

You can change the Link Style at any time without removing or altering the images in the block.

Customizing the Last Grid Item

When you select Last Grid Item, you can customize its appearance from the COLORS tab in the Images Block settings.

Available settings include:

  • Last Item Text Color
  • Last Item Background Color

Choose colors that create enough contrast for the text to remain easy to read. Use clear Link Text, such as Load More or View More Images, so visitors understand what will happen when they click the item.

Other Display Last Item Link Options

The Display Last Item Link setting also includes the following options:

  • None: No additional link appears after the initially displayed images.
  • Yes, as a "standard link": The link sends visitors to a separate page or URL instead of loading more images within the current page.

Select Yes, as a "load more link" when you want visitors to continue browsing images without leaving the page.

Images Block Display Limit

You can upload more than 50 images to an Images Block, but a maximum of 50 images can display within a single block. This limit helps maintain website performance.

The Load More link reveals additional images within the 50-image display limit. It does not allow more than 50 images to display in the block.

To display a larger collection, divide the images between multiple Images Blocks or website pages.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

The Link Style Setting Is Missing

Confirm that the Images Block uses one of the supported layouts listed in this guide. Open the block settings, click CHANGE LAYOUT, and select a compatible layout.

The Load More Link Does Not Appear

Make sure Display Last Item Link is set to Yes, as a "load more link."

The Images Block must contain more images than are initially displayed before the Load More link is needed. If all images already appear on the page, the link will not display.

The Button or Text Only Link Appears Below the Images

This is the expected placement for the Button and Text Only styles. Select Last Grid Item when you want the Load More link to appear within the image layout.

The Last Grid Item Text Does Not Display

Open the COLORS tab in the Images Block settings. Adjust the Last Item Text Color and Last Item Background Color so the text contrasts with the background and remains easy to read.

Click Save, then preview the page to confirm that the text is visible.

The Load More Link Does Not Display Every Uploaded Image

An Images Block can display a maximum of 50 images. The Load More link can reveal additional images within that limit, but it cannot display more than 50 images from the block.
