PhotoBiz ECommerce allows you to accept Venmo payments by setting up an Offline Payment merchant. This lets clients place an order through your website or Client Galleries and then send payment to you through Venmo outside of the checkout system. This option is useful if you prefer to accept peer-to-peer payments instead of credit or debit cards. By the end of this guide, Venmo will appear as a payment option at checkout for your clients.
Important Notes
Offline payment methods, including Venmo, cannot be used with:
Invoices
Forms
When Venmo is used as a payment option, payments are not automatically confirmed in PhotoBiz.
Orders placed using Venmo will remain Pending until you manually mark them as Paid in your order dashboard. Clients will not be able to download digital files or receive products until the payment status is updated.
If you need help updating an order after receiving payment, see How To Update The Payment Status on my Order
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE from the left-hand menu.
At the top of the ECommerce dashboard, hover over PAYMENT, then click MERCHANTS from the dropdown menu. This displays all existing payment methods connected to your account.
Click the NEW MERCHANT button to add a new payment option.
From the merchant type dropdown, select OFFLINE PAYMENT and complete the required fields.
Set the Payment Name to something clear, such as Pay with Venmo. This is the name clients will see during checkout.
In Special Instructions, enter your Venmo username or any instructions clients need to complete the payment.
Use the Thank You Message field to confirm the order and explain next steps. You may want to remind clients that their order will be processed after payment is received, since Venmo payments are handled outside of PhotoBiz.
Click ADD MERCHANT to save the Venmo payment option.
When saved, Venmo will be available as a payment method for eligible ECommerce orders.
Clients will see Venmo listed as a payment option on the checkout screen alongside any other payment methods you have enabled.
After completing checkout, clients will see an on-screen confirmation message and receive an emailed receipt. The order will remain pending until you manually mark it as paid.
Why does the order still say Pending after my client paid with Venmo?
Venmo payments are not automatically verified. You must manually update the order status to Paid after confirming receipt of payment.
Can clients download files immediately after choosing Venmo?
No. Downloads and product fulfillment are disabled until the order is marked as Paid.
Can I use Venmo with invoices or forms?
No. Offline payment methods are only supported for ECommerce orders.
