How Do I Set Up An Offline Payment Method?

How to Set Up Offline Payment Methods in PhotoBiz ECommerce

In addition to accepting credit and debit card payments through a merchant account, PhotoBiz ECommerce also lets you accept offline payments — including cash, in-person payments, Zelle, Venmo, personal checks, and more.

This gives your customers the flexibility to place an order through your website or client galleries, but pay you separately, outside of the online checkout system.

⚠️ Important Note: Offline payment methods cannot be used with Invoicing or Forms.

PRO TIP!

When using an offline payment method, all orders will appear as Pending until you manually mark them as Paid in your order dashboard.
Clients will not be able to download digital files or receive any products until the payment status has been updated.

📘 Need help updating payment status? Check out our guide:
👉 How To Update The Payment Status on my Order

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE from the left-hand menu.

STEP TWO

At the top center of your ECommerce dashboard, hover over PAYMENT, then click on MERCHANTS from the dropdown menu.

STEP THREE

Click the NEW MERCHANT button.

FINAL STEP

From the merchant type dropdown, select OFFLINE PAYMENT and customize the following fields:

  • PAYMENT NAME:
Give your payment method a clear name, such as:
Pay with Cash, Pay with Zelle, Pay with Venmo, Mail a Check, etc.

  • SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Add specific details your clients need to complete the payment, such as:

    • Your Zelle phone number or email

    • Your Venmo username

    • Who to make a check payable to

    • When and where to bring cash for in-person payments

  • THANK YOU MESSAGE:
    Include a personalized thank-you note.
You can also remind customers that their order won’t be processed until payment is received, since offline payments are not automatically confirmed like card payments.

Once you're finished, click ADD MERCHANT to save the payment option.

Now when your clients check out, they'll see this offline method listed along with any other payment options you’ve set up.
