Overview
The PhotoBiz Form & Contract Builder is included with every PhotoBiz Website Package. You can use it to create custom forms, questionnaires, contracts, payment forms, and other documents for your clients.
Most changes made directly in the Form Editor are saved automatically. Other changes require you to select Save Changes before they are applied.
This guide explains how autosave works, which options require Save Changes, how changing a form title affects its URL, and why an open form may need to be refreshed after an update.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and select FORMS from the left-side menu.
This opens the Forms Dashboard, where you can manage your forms, contracts, submissions, settings, and other Form & Contract Builder features.
Select FORMS at the top center of the Forms Dashboard.
The Forms section displays the forms and contracts saved in your account.
Select the form or contract you want to update. To create a new form or contract, select NEW FORM.
The Form Editor will open. From here, you can add blocks, edit content, rearrange sections, modify fields, and manage the form’s appearance and settings.
Make your changes in the Form Editor.
Most changes made directly in the editor are saved automatically. The last-saved date and time appear in the upper-right and bottom-right corners of the Form Editor.
When you edit an option that displays a Save Changes button, select Save Changes to apply the update.
Confirm that the autosave timestamp in the upper-right or bottom-right corner shows the date and time of your latest update.
Open the customer-facing version of the form and refresh or reload the page to view the updated version. Anyone who already had the form open before your changes were saved must also refresh the page before submitting it.
Most changes made directly in the main Form Editor are saved automatically. These include actions such as:
You do not need to select a separate save button for these changes. Allow the autosave timestamp to update before closing the browser tab or leaving the Form Editor.
Changing the title of a form is saved automatically.
The form title is also used to create the form’s URL. When you change the title, the URL for the customer-facing form changes as well.
After changing a form title, review the updated URL and replace the previous form link anywhere you have shared or added it, including:
Refresh the customer-facing form after changing its title to confirm that the updated form and URL load correctly.
See How To Find Direct URL for a Form for complete instructions.
The following areas require you to select Save Changes after making an update:
Changes made in these areas are not applied through autosave alone. Select Save Changes before leaving the panel.
Some advanced options within the following blocks also require you to select Save Changes:
The Save Changes requirement applies when the block settings panel displays that button. After you select it, the Form Editor applies the update and autosaves the form or contract.
See PhotoBiz Form Builder Fields Guide for complete instructions.
The autosave timestamp appears in two locations:
Both locations display the last date and time the form or contract was saved.
The timestamp may take a moment to update after you make a change. Confirm that it reflects your latest work before closing the editor or navigating away from the form.
After you update a form in your PhotoBiz control panel, the customer-facing form must be refreshed or reloaded to display the updated version.
Anyone who opened the form before the changes were saved will still have the previous version loaded in their browser. They will not be able to submit the outdated version.
The visitor must refresh or reload the page to receive the updated form before completing and submitting it. Visitors who open the form after your changes have been saved should receive the updated version.
Once a form or contract has been autosaved, there is no option to restore a previous version.
If you save a change that you no longer want, edit the form again and return the affected content, block, field, theme, or setting to your preferred option.
Review important updates carefully before deleting blocks, removing fields, changing the form title, replacing content, or modifying payment settings.
The Autosave Timestamp Does Not Update
Check your internet connection and allow the Form Editor a few moments to process the change. Avoid closing the browser tab until the timestamp updates.
You can refresh the control panel and reopen the form to confirm whether your latest changes were saved.
A Setting or Advanced Option Did Not Change
Reopen the block or settings panel and confirm that you selected Save Changes.
Updates made under Edit Theme, Settings, Branding, Tracking, Tags, or advanced block options are not applied until you select Save Changes.
The Updated Form Does Not Appear
Refresh or reload the customer-facing form in your browser.
If another person already had the form open, ask them to refresh the page before completing it. An outdated version of the form cannot be submitted after the form has been changed in the control panel.
The Form Link Changed
Check whether the form title was updated. Changing the form title automatically changes the form URL.
Copy the updated URL from your PhotoBiz account and replace the previous link anywhere it was shared or added.
You Need to Undo a Saved Change
The Form Editor cannot restore a previous autosaved version. Edit the form again and return the affected content or settings to your preferred options.
