How Do I Batch Convert Images to sRGB Color Profile?

March 06, 2025 | By: PhotoBiz Knowledge Base

If you are using a Mac and notice your images appear washed out or overly dark, you may need to convert the color profile to sRGB before uploading them. If you only have a few images to convert, you can find single-image instructions here.

Note: Windows users typically do not need to do this, as PCs generally do not save color profile information in JPG format.

Batch Converting Images to sRGB on a Mac

Step 1: Open an Image

  • Open any image that has an Adobe RGB (or another non-sRGB) color profile.

Step 2: Create an Action Set

  • Open the Actions tab.
  • Click on the small menu icon in the top-right corner of the Actions tab.
  • Select New Set, give it a name (e.g., "Conversions"), and click OK.

Step 3: Create a New Action

  • With your new set selected, click the Create New Action icon.
  • Name the action (e.g., "sRGB") and leave the other settings as default.
  • Click Record to begin recording the action.

Step 4: Convert the Color Profile

  • Go to Image > Mode > Convert to Profile.
  • Under Destination Space, select sRGB and click OK.

Step 5: Stop Recording

  • Click the Stop Recording button in the Actions tab. Your action is now saved.

Step 6: Batch Convert Your Images

  • Go to File > Automate > Batch.
  • Under Set, select "Conversions."
  • Under Action, select "sRGB."
  • Under Source, select the folder containing the images you want to convert.

PRO TIP!

Before converting, create a folder on your desktop named "Conversion Source" and move the images you wish to convert into this folder.
