Overview
You can add a Button Block to a PhotoBiz blog post to give readers a clear next step after reading your content. Buttons can link visitors to a page on your website, a form, your Scheduler, an external website, an email address, a file, and other supported destinations.
You can place a button anywhere within your blog post and customize the text and destination at any time. This guide walks you through adding a Button Block, choosing where it links, saving your changes, and testing the button on your live blog post.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click BLOG in the left-side menu.
This opens your Blog control panel, where you can create new blog posts or edit existing posts.
Click the title of the blog post you want to update, or create a new blog post if you are starting from scratch. If you have many blog posts, you can use the search bar to locate the blog post you want to edit.
This opens the Blog Post Editor.
Find the Button Block in the blog editor tools on the right side. Click or drag the Button Block into the location where you want the button to appear within your blog post.
You can place the button at the end of your post, between sections, or anywhere else you want to give readers a clear call to action.
Click CLICK TO ADD BUTTON TEXT inside the Button Block.
The button settings will open in the right-side panel so you can customize the button text and destination.
Enter the text you want visitors to see on the button. Then use the Link To dropdown menu to select where the button should send your visitors and complete the settings for that destination.
Click SAVE CHANGES when you are finished. After saving, view your blog post and click the button to make sure it opens the correct page, form, website, or other destination.
The Link To dropdown menu determines what happens when a visitor clicks your button. Available options include:
The additional settings shown in the right-side panel will depend on the link type you select.
Use short, descriptive button text that tells readers what will happen when they click.
Good call-to-action examples include:
Descriptive button text is easier for visitors to understand and is more useful than generic wording such as Click Here.
After you save your changes, the Button Block appears as part of your blog post content.
For example, a contact call-to-action could display as:
Get In Touch Today
Always test your button after saving to confirm that it opens the intended destination.
The Blog Post Editor supports DuoBuild, which allows supported blocks to snap together into a two-column layout.
To use DuoBuild with a Button Block, drag the Button Block next to another supported block until the two blocks snap into a shared row. You can use this to place two call-to-action buttons next to each other or position a button beside other supported blog content.
DuoBuild can be helpful when you want to create a more structured layout without adding additional sections to your blog post.
You can change a Button Block after you add it to your blog post.
Open the blog post in the Blog Post Editor and click the Button Block you want to update. Change the button text, link destination, or other available settings in the right-side panel, then click SAVE CHANGES.
Test the button again after making changes to make sure the updated destination works correctly.
You can remove a Button Block from your blog post at any time.
Mouse over the Button Block and click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner. In the menu that opens, click DELETE.
The DELETE BLOCK panel opens on the right side of the Blog Post Editor. Click yes, delete it to permanently remove the Button Block from your blog post.
Deleting a block cannot be undone. The Button Block and the content within it cannot be recovered after you confirm the deletion.
Why does my button open the wrong page?
Open the Button Block settings and review the option selected under Link To. Confirm that the correct page, URL, form, or other destination is assigned, then click SAVE CHANGES and test the button again.
Why don't I see the page, form, or Pop-Up I want to use?
Make sure the destination you want to use has already been created in your PhotoBiz account. After creating it, return to the Blog Post Editor and reopen the Button Block settings.
Can I change a button after I add it to a blog post?
Yes. Open the blog post, click the existing Button Block, make your changes in the right-side settings panel, and click SAVE CHANGES.
Where should I place a call-to-action button?
Buttons work especially well after content that naturally leads to the next action. For example, you could place Book Your Session after describing a photography service or Get In Touch at the end of a post encouraging readers to contact you.
