Can I Cancel My Website Package and Keep My Domain and Mailbox?

Overview

Yes, you can cancel or pause your PhotoBiz Website Package and continue to keep your domain, mailbox, or both active with PhotoBiz. This is helpful if you are not ready to use your PhotoBiz website but still want to keep your domain name registered or continue using your email service.

To make this change, contact the PhotoBiz Support Team by submitting a support ticket from your PhotoBiz account or by calling Support. Support will review your account and help make sure the correct products remain active.

Your account can remain active with domain-only, mailbox-only, or domain-and-mailbox-only services. These services are billed annually. If your account is currently billed monthly and you keep only a domain, mailbox, or both active, you will be charged annually for those active products on your next billing date.

You can also keep your domain registered with PhotoBiz and use it with a website hosted by another company. PhotoBiz Support will need the domain settings from your new website provider so the correct domain records can be updated for you.

How to Request This Change

To cancel or pause your Website Package while keeping your domain, mailbox, or both active, contact PhotoBiz Support using one of the options below:

  • Submit a support ticket from your PhotoBiz account
  • Call PhotoBiz Support at 866.463.7620

When you contact Support, let us know which services you want to keep active. For example, you may want to cancel or pause your Website Package but keep your domain name and mailbox active so your email continues working.

PhotoBiz Support will review the products on your account and confirm what will remain active after your Website Package is paused or canceled.

Services You Can Keep Active

You may choose to keep:

  • Your domain only
  • Your mailbox only
  • Your domain and mailbox only

Your account can also be adjusted if you have other active PhotoBiz services, such as Client Galleries or other add-ons. Support can review your account with you and help confirm which products should remain active.

Billing After Your Website Package Is Canceled or Paused

Domain-only, mailbox-only, and domain-and-mailbox-only services are billed annually.

If your account is currently billed monthly and you keep only a domain, mailbox, or both active, those products will be billed annually on your next billing date. This allows you to maintain your domain registration, email mailbox, or both without keeping the full Website Package active.

Using Your Domain With Another Website Provider

You can keep your domain registered with PhotoBiz and use it with a website hosted by another company.

Before contacting PhotoBiz Support, ask your new website provider for the domain settings they require. PhotoBiz Support will need this information to point your domain to the correct location.

Common domain settings a third-party provider may give you include:

  • Nameservers
  • A record
  • CNAME record
  • TXT record
  • MX records, if email settings are also changing

Do not change mailbox or email records unless your email provider gives you new settings. If your mailbox is staying active with PhotoBiz, Support can help make sure your email settings remain in place.

Submit a Support Ticket From Your PhotoBiz Account

Follow the steps below if you want to submit your request from your PhotoBiz account.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click MY ACCOUNT in the left-side menu if you want to review the products currently active on your account. This may include your Website Package, domain name, mailbox, Client Galleries, or other PhotoBiz services.

Before submitting your request, confirm which services you want to keep. For example, you may want to pause your Website Package but keep your domain name and mailbox active so your email continues working.

If you plan to use your domain with a third-party website, contact your new website provider and ask for the domain settings they require. This may include nameservers, an A record, a CNAME record, or other DNS records.

STEP TWO

Click the black and white question mark icon located in the lower-right corner of your control panel.

This opens the support menu where you can submit a support ticket from inside your account.

FINAL STEP

A support menu will appear on the right side of your screen. Submit your request using the ticket system.

In the Production/Section field, select ACCOUNT. In the Subject Section field, select the best available option for your request, such as DOMAIN & EMAIL if your request includes a domain or mailbox.

In the Description Section, clearly state that you want to cancel or pause your PhotoBiz Website Package and keep your domain, mailbox, or both active.

Include the domain name and mailbox address you want to keep active, if applicable. If you want your domain pointed to another website provider, include the domain settings from that provider.

When you are ready, click Send to submit your ticket. You will see a confirmation message with a Ticket ID on the screen once your request is submitted. Keep this Ticket ID for your records.

What Happens After the Change Is Made

Once your Website Package is paused or canceled, your PhotoBiz website service will no longer remain active as part of your account. Your selected domain, mailbox, or domain and mailbox services will remain active as long as those products stay current and paid.

If you kept your mailbox active, your email service can continue. If you kept your domain active, your domain registration can remain managed through PhotoBiz.

If your domain was pointed to a third-party website, your domain should load that website after the domain settings are updated and DNS changes finish processing.

Troubleshooting or FAQs

Will my domain be canceled if I cancel my Website Package?

No. Your domain can remain active without your Website Package, as long as you choose to keep the domain service active and continue paying for it annually.

Will my mailbox keep working?

Yes. Your mailbox can remain active without your Website Package, as long as you keep the mailbox service active and continue paying for it annually.

Can I keep both my domain and mailbox?

Yes. Your account can remain active with only your domain and mailbox services.

Can I use my domain with a website outside PhotoBiz?

Yes. You can keep your domain registered with PhotoBiz and use it with a third-party website. PhotoBiz Support will need the domain settings from your new website provider so your domain can be pointed correctly.

What information does PhotoBiz need to point my domain to another website?

PhotoBiz Support needs the domain settings from your third-party website provider. These settings may include nameservers, an A record, a CNAME record, or other DNS records.

Will I still be billed?

Yes. If you keep a domain, mailbox, or both active, your account will be billed annually for the active service or services.
