STEP FOUR

STEP FIVE
Check Your Contact Details
If you've configured your sales tax and you've set your items to be taxable or non-taxable. The last place to check is the contact you're sending the invoice to for any of the following:
Sales Tax is calculated using the billing and shipping information in your contact.
If those fields are empty, the taxes will not display until they are completed for your selected contact. The 2 scenarios that will cause sales tax not to be calculated and display are the following:
- 1. Your selected contact does not have a state or country in their billing or shipping information when it's added to the invoice or quote.
- 2. Your sales taxes are set up per county and the selected contact doesn't have a county selected in addition to: state and country.
The solution for both of these scenarios is to edit the contact and add the country, state, and county depending on your sales tax settings to display and calculate the sales tax properly.
Your clients will receive their invoice with their line items and the sales tax calculated at the end based on the taxable items that are included in their sub-total.
PRO TIP: The Sales Tax section also will generate tax reports for you in the ECommerce control panel.
