Overview
PhotoBiz Website Builder includes Divider Blocks that help you separate content, add spacing, and create decorative elements throughout your website. In addition to PhotoBiz's predesigned divider layouts, you can upload your own graphic to create a custom design that matches your branding.
Custom divider graphics can be added to both regular website pages and your website footer. The process for adding the Divider Block is slightly different depending on its location, but the settings for uploading and displaying your custom graphic are the same.
This guide walks you through adding a Divider Block, selecting the Spacer layout, and using a custom background image to display your graphic.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu to open your Website Builder.
Choose where you want to add your custom divider graphic.
For a website page: Click the page where you want the custom divider to appear. This opens the page editor.
For your website footer: Click FOOTER in the Website Builder menu to open the footer editor.
Locate the DIVIDER BLOCK in the block menu.
Click the DIVIDER BLOCK to add it to the bottom of your page or footer, or click and drag it into your preferred position.
The next step depends on where you're adding your divider:
For a website page: The Website Builder displays a selection of predesigned Divider Blocks and a BLANK option. Select BLANK to add a Divider Block without a predesigned graphic.
For your website footer: The Divider Block is added directly to your footer without opening the layout selection panel. Click the new block to open its editing settings.
Open your Divider Block's editing settings by clicking directly on the block. You can also click the pencil icon and select ADVANCED.
Click LAYOUT and confirm that SPACER is selected.
If another layout is active, select SPACER and save your layout selection.
The SPACER layout creates an empty area within the Divider Block. This allows you to display your own custom graphic as a background image without adding one of PhotoBiz's built-in divider lines or decorative designs.
Already have a Divider Block on your website? You don't need to add another one. Simply open your existing Divider Block, change its layout to SPACER, and continue with the steps below.
In the Divider Block editing settings, click DIVIDER.
Locate Choose Thickness and select Thick from the dropdown menu.
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your selection.
The Thickness setting controls the vertical height of your Divider Block. Selecting Thick provides additional space for your custom graphic.
You can return to this setting later and select a different thickness if you want to increase or decrease the space occupied by your divider.
Click BACKGROUND in the Divider Block editing settings.
Select Custom Background and upload the image you want to use as your divider graphic.
Once your image is uploaded, select Centered from the available background positioning options.
Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your custom background.
Your graphic will now appear inside the Divider Block on your website page or footer.
If you want to adjust the amount of vertical space around your design, return to the DIVIDER settings and change the Thickness.
Your saved changes automatically take effect on your website.
Your custom divider graphic appears in the location where you added the Divider Block.
On website pages: Your graphic appears between website content sections, helping separate images, text, galleries, and other blocks with a decorative design.
In your website footer: Your graphic appears within the footer, allowing you to add a branded design element or create a visual separation between footer content.
The appearance of your graphic depends on its dimensions, the Divider Block Thickness setting, and the background positioning option you select.
Use a graphic that complements your website.
Decorative illustrations, flourishes, and branded artwork can make effective custom dividers. Choose a design that complements your photography and website content without becoming distracting.
Consider using a transparent PNG.
A PNG graphic with a transparent background can be useful for decorative dividers because it allows the background behind transparent areas of the graphic to remain visible.
If your graphic has a solid background that you want to remove, try the free PhotoBiz Logo Background Remover. This tool can help you prepare logos and similar graphics for use on your website.
Adjust your divider thickness.
The Thick option is a useful starting point, but the best setting depends on your graphic. You can adjust Thickness to change the amount of vertical space available for your design.
Choose the right background positioning.
The BACKGROUND settings include several options for displaying your custom image:
Tile: Repeats the background graphic across the available area.
Top Left: Positions the graphic in the upper-left corner of the block.
Centered: Positions the graphic in the center of the available background area.
Cover: Scales the image to cover the background area, which may crop portions of the graphic.
For decorative graphics that should appear in the middle of your Divider Block, Centered is a good starting point.
Add extra spacing when needed.
If you want additional space above or below your custom graphic, add separate Spacer Divider Blocks before or after your custom divider.
Preview your design on different devices.
Your graphic may appear differently depending on the screen size and available space. Check your website on desktop and mobile to make sure the divider looks the way you want.
