How to Change Your Banner Block Layout in PhotoBiz

Overview

You can change the layout of any Banner Block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder. The selected layout controls the height, image presentation, and overall appearance of the banner on your website.

PhotoBiz includes 16 Banner Block layouts across four layout families: Classic, Carousel, No Crop, and Modern Carousel. You can preview layouts directly inside the Website Builder or view all available options in the right-side panel.

This guide explains how to change your Banner Block layout and select a separate layout height for mobile devices.

STEP ONE

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content blocks.

STEP TWO

Click the page containing the Banner Block you want to update.

The current layout name appears in the upper-right corner of the Banner Block inside the Website Builder. Left and right arrows appear beside the layout name.

STEP THREE

You can change the Banner Block layout in two ways.

To preview layouts directly on the page, click the left or right arrow beside the current layout name. Each click changes the Banner Block to another available layout so you can compare the designs inside the Website Builder.

The selected layout applies automatically when you use the arrows. You do not need to click a Save button.

To view all available layouts at once, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the Banner Block and select CHANGE LAYOUT.

STEP FOUR

When you select CHANGE LAYOUT, the available Banner Block layouts appear in the right-side panel.

Scroll through the layout options and locate the design you want to use. Click the Save button beneath that layout to apply it to the Banner Block.

FINAL STEP

Review the Banner Block inside the Website Builder and confirm that the image height, cropping, titles, subtitles, and buttons appear as expected.

Preview the page on both desktop and mobile devices. Your selected layout is applied to the website automatically, so you do not need to publish the website separately.

Available Banner Block Layouts

PhotoBiz includes 16 Banner Block layout options.

Classic Layouts

Classic Full Screen
Classic Medium
Classic Short
Classic Thin

Classic layouts create a large hero-style banner. The image fills a defined banner area and may be cropped to fit different screen sizes.

These layouts work well for homepage introductions, promotions, portfolio highlights, and banners that include titles or call-to-action buttons.

Carousel Layouts

Carousel Full Screen
Carousel Medium
Carousel Short
Carousel Thin

Carousel layouts display multiple images in a horizontally scrolling presentation. These layouts allow visitors to view more than one image within the same Banner Block.

Carousel layouts are helpful when your banner contains images with different dimensions or aspect ratios.

No Crop Layouts

No Crop Full Screen
No Crop Medium
No Crop Short
No Crop Thin

No Crop layouts preserve the entire image instead of cropping it to fill the banner area. Additional space may appear around the image to maintain its original proportions.

These layouts are useful for group portraits, wide landscapes, album designs, or other images with important details near the edges.

Modern Carousel Layouts

Modern Carousel Full Screen
Modern Carousel Medium
Modern Carousel Short
Modern Carousel Thin

Modern Carousel layouts provide an alternate contemporary design for displaying multiple banner images. Like the standard Carousel layouts, they allow visitors to move through several images within one Banner Block.

Choose the Full Screen, Medium, Short, or Thin option based on how much vertical space you want the banner to use.

Choosing a Layout Height

Each Banner Block layout family includes four height options.

Full Screen: Uses the largest display area and creates a prominent visual presentation.
Medium: Provides a large banner without filling the entire screen.
Short: Uses less vertical space and keeps more page content visible.
Thin: Creates a narrow banner that works well for page headings or section dividers.

The exact appearance may vary based on the image dimensions, screen size, and content added to the Banner Block.

Choosing a Mobile Layout

You can select a separate layout height for visitors viewing your website on a mobile device.

Click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the Banner Block and select Advanced. In the right-side panel, click Layout.

Locate the mobile layout dropdown and choose one of the following options:

Full Screen
Medium
Short
Thin

Click Save Changes to apply the mobile layout.

The mobile layout setting controls the banner height and presentation on phones. It does not replace the desktop layout or change the images uploaded to the Banner Block.

Using Separate Mobile Images

You can upload separate mobile images when your desktop banner images, titles, or captions do not scale well on smaller screens.

Mobile images are managed separately from the standard desktop images in the Banner Block settings. When mobile images are added, they appear for visitors using phones while the standard banner images continue to appear on larger screens.

Consider using a tighter crop or a vertically oriented image for mobile visitors. Keep important subjects and visual details away from the edges of the image.

Tips for Choosing a Banner Layout

Classic layouts work best when the main subject has enough space around it to accommodate cropping. Keep the subject near the center of the image whenever possible.

No Crop layouts are recommended when the full photograph must remain visible.

Carousel and Modern Carousel layouts are useful when you want to display several images in the same banner area.

Always preview your banner on both desktop and mobile devices. Different screen sizes may change the amount of the image that visitors can see.
