How to Display More Images on a Page in PhotoBiz

Overview

You can display more images on a PhotoBiz website page by adjusting the layout of an Images Block, adding a Load More link, or placing multiple Images Blocks on the page. Desktop and mobile devices use different display settings, so the number of images visitors initially see may vary by device.

This guide explains how rows and columns, Mobile View, Last Item Link settings, and Link Style options affect the number of images displayed. It also covers the 50-image display limit for each Images Block and how to avoid using a Load More link.

Increase the Number of Rows and Columns

Many Images Block layouts use rows and columns to control how many images appear when the page first loads on a desktop device.

Open the website page containing the Images Block, then select the block to access its settings. Choose a layout that supports rows and columns, then increase either setting to display more images.

For example, a layout with three columns and two rows includes six display positions. Increasing the rows or columns allows more images to appear before a visitor selects a Load More link.

The available settings depend on the layout you select. Slideshow and Carousel layouts do not use standard rows and columns because they display images individually or in a scrolling format.

After adjusting the layout, click Save. The Save button automatically applies your updates to the website.

Choose a Mobile View

Mobile View settings are available under the Styling tab in the Images Block settings.

You can choose:

One Column: Displays each image at a larger size.
Two Columns: Displays more images within the visible area of the page.

For non-slideshow and non-carousel layouts, an Images Block can display up to 10 images at one time on mobile devices.

Choose One Column when you want each image to receive more visual emphasis. Choose Two Columns when you want visitors to see more images as they scroll.

The Last Item Link and Link Style settings determine whether a link appears below the images or uses the final position within the image grid.

Choose a Last Item Link

The Display Last Item Link setting controls whether visitors see a link after the images displayed by the selected layout.

The available options are:

None: No link appears. The block displays only the images that fit within the selected layout.
Yes, as a “load more link”: Visitors can display additional images from the same Images Block without leaving the page.
Yes, as a “standard link”: Visitors are directed to another page or destination.

The Load More link works on desktop and mobile devices. When a visitor selects it, additional images from the block appear directly on the page.

Use a standard link when you want to direct visitors to another website page, portfolio, Client Gallery, or external destination.

When you enable a Load More or standard link, you can customize the text visitors see. Supported layouts also include Link Style options.

Customize the Link Style

Link Style controls where the Last Item Link appears within the Images Block.

The available Link Style options are:

Button: Displays the link as a button below the images.
Text Only: Displays the link as text below the images.
Last Grid Item: Uses the final position in the image grid for the link.

When you select Button or Text Only, the link appears below the images and does not replace an image position.

For example, a mobile layout can display up to 10 images followed by a Button or Text Only link.

When you select Last Grid Item, the link uses a position that would otherwise display an image.

On desktop devices, the selected rows and columns determine the number of available positions. A layout with three columns and two rows includes six positions. When Last Grid Item is selected, five images display and the link uses the sixth position.

On mobile devices, nine images display and the Last Grid Item link uses the tenth position.

The Link Style controls how and where the link appears. The Display Last Item Link setting controls what happens when a visitor selects it:

A Load More link displays additional images from the block.
A standard link directs the visitor to another destination.

Understand the 50-Image Display Limit

You can upload more than 50 images to an Images Block. However, each block can display a maximum of 50 images on your website.

A Load More link can display additional images that were not included in the initial rows and columns, but it cannot increase the block beyond the 50-image display limit.

Images beyond the first 50 will not appear on the website.

To display more than 50 images, you can:

Add another Images Block to the same page.
Divide the images across multiple website pages.
Use Client Galleries for a complete session or event.

Add Multiple Images Blocks

You can add up to 30 Images Blocks to a single website page. Each block can use its own images, layout, styling, spacing, and Last Item Link settings.

Multiple Images Blocks can help you display more than 50 images or organize a collection into separate sections.

For example, a wedding photographer could create separate blocks for:

Getting ready
Ceremony
Portraits
Reception

You can also combine different layouts on the same page. One section could use a grid layout while another uses a Slideshow or Carousel.

Although multiple Images Blocks allow you to display more images, placing several large image collections on one page may increase loading time. Consider dividing very large collections across separate pages or using Client Galleries.

How to Avoid Load More on Desktop and Mobile

Desktop and mobile devices use different Images Block display settings.

On desktop, the number of images initially displayed is determined by the selected rows and columns. On mobile, non-slideshow and non-carousel layouts display up to 10 images at one time.

To display all images without a Load More link:

Add no more than 10 images to each Images Block.
Select enough rows and columns to display every image on desktop.
Set Display Last Item Link to None.
Add another Images Block for the next group of images.

For example, an Images Block containing 10 images could use two rows and five columns on desktop. All 10 images can also display on mobile without requiring a Load More link.

Using multiple blocks containing 10 images or fewer allows you to display a larger collection without requiring visitors to select Load More.

Why Does Load More Appear on One Device but Not Another?

Load More may appear differently on desktop and mobile because each version uses a different initial display limit.

Desktop uses the selected rows and columns. Mobile displays up to 10 images in non-slideshow and non-carousel layouts.

For example, an Images Block containing 10 images may display all 10 on mobile. However, if the desktop layout uses three columns and two rows, only six images initially display on desktop. The Load More link may then appear for the remaining images.

To prevent this:

Make sure the desktop rows and columns provide enough positions for every image.
Keep each block to 10 images or fewer.
Set Display Last Item Link to None.

Which Option Should You Use?

Choose the option that best matches how you want visitors to browse your images:

Increase the rows and columns when you want more images to appear as soon as the page loads.
Use a Load More link when you want visitors to display additional images without leaving the page.
Use a standard link when you want to direct visitors to another page or image collection.
Add multiple Images Blocks when you need to display more than 50 images or organize images into separate sections.
Use separate Images Blocks containing 10 images or fewer when you want all images to display without a Load More link on desktop and mobile.
Use Client Galleries for complete sessions, proofing, image downloads, favorites, or online ordering.

Tips for Page Performance

Displaying many images on one page may increase loading time, especially for visitors using mobile data or slower internet connections.

For a better browsing experience:

Use a Load More link for longer image collections.
