Overview
The PhotoBiz Form & Contract Builder includes built-in spam protection tools to help keep unwanted messages out of your inbox. If a spam submission gets through one of your forms, you can block the sender from your PhotoBiz account to help prevent future form submissions.
This guide walks you through how to block a sender from your Notification Center. It also explains how to manually block email addresses, domains, IP addresses, and restricted words in Spam Protection.
The safest option is usually to block the specific email address used in the spam submission. This helps block that sender without affecting other visitors, leads, or clients.
Use domain blocking with extreme caution. If you block a domain such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, or outlook.com, you are blocking every form submission from anyone using an email address from that domain.
This can prevent real clients, leads, and inquiries from reaching you.
If a spam submission comes from a free email provider, block the full email address instead of the domain. For example, block example@gmail.com instead of gmail.com.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and open your Control Panel. Click the Notifications icon in the top-right corner of your screen to open the Notification Center.
When the Notification Center opens on the right side of your screen, locate the form submission you want to block. Click the sender’s name or email address shown in the From/Date column to open the sender’s details.
In the sender details window, click the Block Sender button. This opens the blocking options for that sender.
Choose how you want to block the sender, then click Yes, Block Sender to confirm your selection. For most spam submissions, choose Email Address so only the specific sender is blocked.
Once confirmed, future form submissions matching the option you selected will be blocked.
PhotoBiz gives you three ways to block sender information from a form submission. Choose the option that best matches the situation.
gmail.com will block every visitor with an email address ending in @gmail.com from submitting forms on your website. Only use this option if you are sure the entire domain should be blocked. You can manually view, add, or remove blocked information in Spam Protection. This is helpful when you already know the email address, domain, IP address, or restricted words you want to block, or when you need to remove something that was blocked by mistake.
Go to Spam Protection in your PhotoBiz Control Panel to review and manage your blocked sender settings.
Use the following fields to manage spam protection:
Be careful when adding domains to Blacklisted Domains and Email Addresses. This field can block either a full email address or an entire domain.
If you only want to block one sender, enter the full email address.
For example, enter example@gmail.com instead of gmail.com.
Blocking gmail.com would block all Gmail users from submitting your forms. The same applies to other common email providers such as yahoo.com, outlook.com, hotmail.com, and similar services.
If a legitimate client says they cannot submit a form, review your Spam Protection settings first. This is especially important if the client sees an EC4 error when submitting the form.
Check the Blacklisted Domains and Email Addresses field for common email provider domains that may have been added by mistake. If you see a domain such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com, hotmail.com, or another public email service, remove it unless you intentionally want to block all submissions from that provider.
If you only intended to block one spammer, remove the domain and add the full email address instead.
Blocking sender information can help reduce unwanted form submissions, but it may not stop all spam permanently. Spammers may use different email addresses, domains, IP addresses, or wording in future submissions.
Restricted Words can be helpful when spam submissions repeatedly include the same phrase, website, product name, or suspicious term. Use this option carefully so you do not accidentally block real clients who may use common words in legitimate inquiries.
For best results, review your Spam Protection settings regularly and use the most specific blocking option available.
