Overview
You can add tags to products in PhotoBiz ECommerce to organize your catalog and make products easier to find. Product tags can be searched through your website’s on-site search, even when the searched term does not appear in the product name or description.
You can also configure a Products Block to display only products assigned a specific tag. When a customer purchases a tagged product, PhotoBiz automatically adds that tag to the customer’s contact record for future organization and email marketing.
This guide explains how to add tags to a new or existing product and how those tags can be used throughout your PhotoBiz account.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.
This opens the ECommerce Dashboard.
Hover over SELL ONLINE at the top of the ECommerce Dashboard and click PRODUCTS in the dropdown menu.
The Products section displays the product categories and products saved in your account. You can add tags to an existing product or create a new product and add tags during setup.
Find the product you want to update and click the product name to open the product editor.
Use the search option to locate the product if you have a large product catalog.
Click the TAGS tab in the product editor. Find the section labeled ENTER TAGS BELOW, THEN CLICK ADD on the right side of the screen.
Enter a tag and click ADD. Repeat this process for each tag you want to associate with the product.
When you finish adding tags, scroll down and click SAVE CHANGES. The tags will now be connected to the product.
Product tags can help visitors find products through your website’s on-site search.
When a visitor searches for a word or phrase that matches a product tag, the tagged product can appear in the search results. The searched term does not need to appear in the product name or description.
For example, you could add the tag landscape art to several products. When a visitor searches your website for “landscape art,” those tagged products can appear in the results.
Your website must have on-site search enabled before visitors can use this feature.
For complete setup instructions, see How to Set Up On-Site Search with PhotoBiz.
You can configure a Products Block to display only products assigned a specific tag.
This allows you to create focused product collections on different website pages without creating duplicate products in your ECommerce catalog.
For example, you could add the tag holiday cards to several products and configure a Products Block to display only products with that tag. You could then place the block on a holiday products page while keeping the same products available elsewhere in your store.
You can use this feature to create collections based on:
For complete instructions, see How To Display Products with a Specific Tag.
When a customer purchases a tagged product, PhotoBiz automatically adds the product tag to the customer’s contact record.
This allows you to:
For example, customers who purchase products tagged wedding album can be grouped together for future emails about album upgrades, anniversary products, or print offers.
For instructions on creating and sending an email campaign, see How to Send an Email Campaign with PhotoBiz Marketing.
Use short, descriptive tags that clearly identify the product, collection, service, or customer interest.
Keep your tag wording consistent. Avoid creating several versions of the same tag, such as:
Choose one version and use it consistently across related products.
Before adding a new tag, check whether an appropriate tag already exists. Consistent tags make it easier to manage on-site search results, Products Blocks, contact lists, and email campaigns.
You can add multiple tags to the same product when it belongs to more than one collection or category. For example, a product could use the tags landscape art, mountain photography, and wall prints.
