Overview
You can sell digital product downloads through your PhotoBiz ECommerce store. After a client places an order for a digital product, they receive a download link they can use to access their file.
If the client does not download the file before the link expires, or if they use all of their available download attempts, you can update the download settings from their order. This guide walks you through how to extend a digital product download link and add more download attempts for a specific customer order.
You must have an order in your ECommerce Dashboard that includes a digital product download.
These settings are updated from the customer’s order. Extending the download link or adding more download attempts only applies to that specific order. It does not change the download settings for the digital product globally.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.
This will open your ECommerce Dashboard, where you can manage orders, products, payments, and store settings.
Mouse over TRACKING at the top of your ECommerce Dashboard and click ORDERS from the drop-down menu.
This will open your list of ECommerce orders.
Find the order that needs an extended digital product download link. Click the ORDER NUMBER to open the order details.
If you have many orders, you can use the available search or filtering options to help locate the customer’s order more quickly.
In the upper-right corner of the order details screen, click DOWNLOADS.
This opens the download information connected to the digital product purchased in that order.
In the right-side menu, click the name of the DOWNLOAD you want to update.
This opens the settings for that specific digital product download link.
In the download settings panel, use the Digital Items Link Expiration Extension field to add more days to the download link. You can also use the Add Additional Download Attempts field to increase the number of times the client can download the file.
Click Save Changes to apply the updated download settings. The client can use their digital product download link again based on the new expiration extension and download attempt settings you entered.
Extending a digital product download link does not create a new product or change the original product setup in your ECommerce store. It only updates the download access for the customer’s specific order.
If your client still cannot access the download after you extend the link or add more attempts, confirm that they are using the original download link from their order email.
You can also review the order details to confirm the correct digital product was purchased and that you updated the correct download item.
