How to Move a Block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder

Overview

The Move function in the PhotoBiz Website Builder allows you to relocate an existing block without rebuilding its content. You can move any Website Builder block to another page or reposition it at the top or bottom of its current page.

This guide shows you how to open the Move tool, choose a destination page, select the block's location, and complete the move.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu. This opens the PhotoBiz Website Builder.

STEP TWO

Click the page that contains the block you want to move. The page will open in the Website Builder so you can access its blocks.

STEP THREE

Find the block you want to move and click the PENCIL ICON in the upper-right corner of the block. Click MOVE from the block menu.

The MOVE option is available for every block placed on a page in the PhotoBiz Website Builder.

FINAL STEP

The MOVE BLOCK panel will open on the right side of your screen.

Use MOVE TO PAGE to select the page where you want the block to appear. You can select a different page or leave the current page selected if you only want to reposition the block.

Under LOCATION, select TOP OF PAGE or BOTTOM OF PAGE. Click MOVE BLOCK to complete the move.

The existing block will be removed from its previous location and placed at the top or bottom of the page you selected. There is no separate Publish step.

Move a Block on the Same Page

You can use MOVE even when you do not want to send the block to another page.

Leave the current page selected under MOVE TO PAGE, choose TOP OF PAGE or BOTTOM OF PAGE, and click MOVE BLOCK. This is useful when working with a long page and you want to quickly reposition a block without dragging it through the page.

Move a Block to an Exact Position

The Move tool places a block at either the top or bottom of the selected page. It does not provide an option to insert the block between specific existing blocks.

If you need the block in a specific position, move it to the destination page first. You can then use drag and drop to place it where you want.

See How to Drag Blocks Between Pages for more information about using drag and drop in the Website Builder.

MOVE vs. COPY

Use MOVE when you want to relocate the existing block and no longer need it in its current location.

Use COPY when you want to keep the original block and create another copy of it. Both options are available from the block's pencil menu.

Helpful Notes

  • MOVE relocates the existing block. It does not create a second copy.
  • The block's existing content and settings move with it.
  • You can move any Website Builder block.
  • You can move a block to another page or reposition it on its current page.
  • TOP OF PAGE and BOTTOM OF PAGE are the only placement options available in the Move tool.
  • Click CANCEL if you open the MOVE BLOCK panel and decide not to move the block.
  • After moving a block, review the destination page to make sure the block appears where you want it.

Troubleshooting and FAQs

Can I move any type of Website Builder block?

Yes. The MOVE option is available for every block placed on a Website Builder page.

Can I move a block without moving it to another page?

Yes. Leave the current page selected under MOVE TO PAGE, choose TOP OF PAGE or BOTTOM OF PAGE, and click MOVE BLOCK.

Can I choose an exact location between other blocks?

Not from the Move tool. MOVE places the block at the top or bottom of the selected page. After moving it, use drag and drop if you need a more specific position.

Does moving a block create a copy?

No. MOVE relocates the existing block. Use COPY if you want to keep the original block and create another version.

Do I need to publish my website after moving a block?

No. PhotoBiz does not use a separate Publish button. Once you complete the move, the block is relocated in the Website Builder.
