Overview
Bulk downloads allow you or your clients to download multiple images from a PhotoBiz Client Gallery at one time. Instead of downloading images one by one, PhotoBiz creates a single .zip file that contains the selected images.
This is helpful when downloading a full gallery, a large group of favorite images, or both. Bulk downloads work best on a desktop or laptop computer because .zip files may need to be opened or extracted before the images can be viewed.
This guide explains how to start a bulk download from a Client Gallery and what clients can expect after the download request is submitted.
Before using bulk downloads, make sure:
Free downloads are enabled for the Client Gallery event.
If you have not enabled free downloads yet, see How to Turn On Free Downloads in a Client Gallery Event.
If you or your clients need help opening .zip files, refer to the support instructions for the device being used:
Open the Client Gallery where you want to download images.
Free downloads must be turned on for the event before bulk downloads are available. You can choose to download the full gallery, selected favorite images, or both.
If you want to download favorites, mark the images you want to include before starting the download.
In grid view, click the heart icon in the bottom-left corner of each image you want to add to your favorites.
In large image view, click the heart icon in the menu at the bottom of the image.
If you want to download the full gallery only, you can skip marking favorites and continue to the next step.
Click the download button to begin the bulk download process.
In grid view, the download icon appears in the top-right corner of the gallery.
In large image view, click the menu icon in the top-right corner, then select the download icon from the side panel.
You will be prompted to enter an email address. This email address is used for download tracking and to send the download link once the .zip file is ready.
Choose what you want to download, then click Start Download.
After you enter your email address, a side panel will appear. You can choose to download the full gallery, your favorites, or both options when available.
A confirmation screen will appear while PhotoBiz creates the .zip file. Once the file is ready, the download button will appear on the page. An automatic email will also be sent to the email address entered during the download process.
After a bulk download is started, clients will see a confirmation screen while their images are being prepared. This means PhotoBiz is creating the .zip file for the selected images.
Once the file is ready, clients can download it directly from the gallery page.
They will also receive an automatic email with a download link. This is helpful if they close the page before the .zip file finishes generating.
The download email includes your global branding information, so the message your clients receive is branded for your business.
Bulk downloads are delivered as a single .zip file. Some mobile devices may require a built-in system tool or app to open .zip files.
Because .zip files can be large, a stable internet connection is recommended.
If a client is downloading a large gallery, the file may take longer to prepare. They can wait on the confirmation screen or use the download link sent by email once the file is ready.
Bulk download links expire after 7 days.
After a link expires, the .zip file can no longer be accessed from that download email. Clients should download their images as soon as possible after receiving the link.
If the link expires, the client can return to the gallery and start a new bulk download, as long as free downloads are still available for the event.
