Ask Me Anything: Video
Overview
You can upload video files directly to your PhotoBiz account and use them throughout your website with the Video Block. PhotoBiz supports MP4, WEBM, and MOV video files.
This guide explains how to prepare your video, upload it to your PhotoBiz Video Library, and use it on your website. After the upload finishes, your video will be available when you add or edit a Video Block in the Website Builder.
Before you begin, make sure you have:
You can upload the following video file formats:
MOV files can be significantly larger than MP4 or WEBM files. If your MOV file exceeds your upload limit, convert or compress it before uploading.
The Website Package allows you to upload video files up to 4 MB each.
The Original Files upgrade increases the maximum upload size to 50 MB per video file. Adding the upgrade does not automatically reduce or convert your video. The file must still be 50 MB or smaller before you upload it.
For help choosing a format, resolution, duration, and bitrate that works with these limits, see A Guide to Ideal Videos for PhotoBiz’s Video Uploader.
To upload videos larger than 4 MB, see How Can I Add the Original Files Feature to My Account?.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click FILES in the left-side menu. This opens the Files control panel, where you can manage videos, documents, and other files stored in your account.
Click VIDEO at the top center of the Files control panel. Your Video Library will open and display any videos that you have already uploaded.
Click Add Files, select the video from your computer, and begin the upload. Keep the page open while the file is uploading.
When the upload finishes, the video will appear in Your Video Library. It is now available to select from a Video Block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder.
Uploading a video stores it in your PhotoBiz account, but it does not automatically place the video on your website.
To display the video, open the Website Builder and add or edit a Video Block. Select My Videos as the Video Type, then choose the uploaded video from Your Video Library.
For complete instructions, see How to Use Video Blocks.
The way your video plays depends on the Video Block layout you select.
Layouts designed for video backgrounds and visual headers, including Full Screen, Banner, No Crop Banner, and supported overlay layouts, automatically play and loop videos uploaded directly to PhotoBiz.
The Standard layout uses a traditional video player with a play button. It is best for videos that visitors should start manually, including tutorials, interviews, or videos with dialogue.
Why will my video not upload?
Confirm that the video is saved as an MP4, WEBM, or MOV file. You should also check the file size. Videos must be 4 MB or smaller unless the Original Files upgrade is active on your account.
If the file is too large, shorten the video, reduce its resolution or bitrate, or convert it to a more compressed format.
Where can I find my video after uploading it?
Click FILES in the left-side menu, then click VIDEO at the top of the Files control panel. The uploaded file should appear in Your Video Library.
Why is my uploaded video not showing on my website?
Uploading the video adds it to Your Video Library but does not automatically add it to a page. You must select the video from a Video Block in the Website Builder.
Why is my video not looping?
Looping is available with specific Video Block layouts. The Standard layout uses manual, non-looping playback. Change the Video Block layout if you want the uploaded video to play and loop automatically.
Why is part of my video being cropped?
Some layouts, including Full Screen and Banner, may crop the video to fill the available display area. Use the No Crop Banner or Standard layout when you want the complete video frame to remain visible.
