PhotoBiz Mailbox Sending and Receiving Limits

Overview

PhotoBiz Mailbox includes built-in sending and receiving limits to help maintain performance, improve deliverability, and protect all users from system slowdowns. These limits control how many emails can be sent and received within specific timeframes.

This article explains how Mailbox limits work, how recipients are counted, what happens when limits are reached, and when to use Email Marketing instead. By the end, you will understand how to avoid delays and ensure your emails are delivered successfully.

Sending Limits

PhotoBiz Mailbox allows you to send emails to up to 10,000 recipients per day.

Daily limits reset every calendar day from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM (EST).

It is important to understand that this limit is based on the total number of recipients, not the number of messages sent.

How Recipients Are Counted

Each email address included in the To, CC, or BCC field counts as one recipient.

For example:

  • Sending 100 emails to 100 recipients each = 10,000 recipients

  • Sending 10,000 emails to 1 recipient each = 10,000 recipients

Both scenarios reach the daily sending limit.

Receiving Limits

PhotoBiz Mailbox limits incoming email to 400 messages every 10 minutes.

This limit helps maintain a stable and reliable email experience for all users.

What Happens When the Limit Is Reached

If your mailbox receives more than 400 messages within a 10-minute period:

  • Additional messages are temporarily deferred

  • Senders will typically retry delivery automatically

  • Deferred messages are usually delivered after a short delay

This means emails are not lost, but they may not appear immediately in your inbox.

Common Scenarios That May Trigger Limits

You may reach sending or receiving limits in situations such as:

  • Sending large email blasts from your mailbox

  • Including many recipients in a single message

  • Receiving high volumes of automated emails from forms, CRMs, or third-party systems

  • Email notifications being triggered rapidly in a short period of time

Using Mailbox vs Email Marketing for Bulk Emails

PhotoBiz Mailbox is designed for direct communication, such as:

  • Responding to clients

  • Sending individual messages

  • Small group communication

If you need to send bulk emails, such as newsletters, promotions, or announcements, you should use PhotoBiz Email Marketing instead.

Your PhotoBiz Website Package includes the ability to send up to 10,000 marketing emails per month using Email Marketing.

Mailbox sending limits are not designed for bulk campaigns. Sending large email blasts through Mailbox can:

  • Cause delays in delivery

  • Prevent messages from being sent

  • Impact overall mailbox performance

For best results:

  • Use Mailbox for one-to-one or small group emails

  • Use Email Marketing for bulk campaigns and newsletters
